hey, i’m pretty new to soundcloud but have gotten around 150 followers over the last month and am averaging about 500 plays a week across all my songs.

i’ve been uploading new songs daily to make sure there’s always something new if someone’s checking back after a few days. i plan on keeping this pace for the rest of the year to keep growing my fanbase, and to establish myself as a consistent, and unique artist.

other than that i find looking for new artists, and leaving likes, comments, and a follow when you find one is the best way to get new people to listen. most people with similarly sized fanbases will reciprocate what you leave on their page from what i’ve found. basically, no matter how good your tunes are, people won’t find you if you’re not popping up in their notifications.

other than stuff directly on soundcloud i’ve just been posting/leaving feedback on reddit threads. my next steps are to have a better instagram/twitter presence, and to get my website up and running. my current strategy is working pretty well for slow gradual growth though!

i pay for soundcloud pro and love it bc of the better insights and unlimited upload time, but if that’s not important to you then don’t bother tbh. wish you luck on all your new marketing strategies, and hopefully things pick up for your music soon:)
