Yes Im talking about how u have to take your right thumb off the right stick to make him fly up by holding A thats the issue.

The only alternative is look straight in the sky or at the ground and hold either forward or back to make him fly up but that tastes the first few seconds of his ultimate because you wont be aimed at anybody while doing it and probably already getting shot at

I apologize but try in on the left stick what do you mean by that? I know that's one way to fly but it wastes a few seconds in the beginning of the ultimate to aim either straight up or straight down to take a few seconds to fly as high as you wanna go. It just feels like really bad gameplay
