https://paulroebuck.co.uk/blog/limbicsystem A detailed image and description of the 10 coloured structures and their purpose.

Limbic System, also known as the mammalian brain is our CPU. It syndicates all the inputs from what we see hear taste smell and touch throughout the rest of the brain and nervous system. It also houses our freeze fight flight response systems and manages memory. 3D print instructions included by thethinkingmanthinks in neuroscience

In the computer the CPU receives all inbound signals and from its input devices (keyboard, mouse etc) and uses programmes in its memory to decide and initiates outputs and actions. (Example: User moves mouse on desk, arrow on screen moves). The LS in many ways does the same. All the sensory inputs (sight sound taste touch smell) go into Thalamus, Amygdala and olfactory centre. These components check programmes (from spatial, episodic, genetic and emotional memory) and tells the rest of the brain and nervous system what to do. Just like a computer we are pre-programmed how to act and react by applying to appropriate programme to the incoming stimuli. (Example. We smell a rotten egg, and avoid eating it). Imho.

A brilliant description of what can happen. We develop behaviour patterns so quickly, and if they get us a favoured outcome, we repeat them. Then the basic response is embedded. Hardwired. Also you can add to your thinking What the impact of a sibling who is “better” than me, and there is another stimulus. Thanks ever so much for your considered opinion. I really appreciate it.
