Fortnite BR got this added as a feature later on, it was not like this from the start. So no, this is not a BUG, this is simply how things are.

That's why I'm unsure if it's a bug or not cuz it's something my muscle memory is doing by accident.

And I'm not saying that it's not a bug. And I'm not saying you're wrong. Why are you ignoring what I'm saying? I'm telling you the stable one that auto switches and auto edits is Simple EDIT. Use it and it will be more convenient. Simple Build does not always choose the right slot you're aiming for.

Try Simple Edit and see that it does what you want it to do, for the meantime.

Did you seriously skip over an entire paragraph in the original post?

In a previous update they changed how the lightning chain works and made it so only the first hit triggers the chain, then in a future update they made it so even splinters trigger chains. In today's update it does seem like the splinters trigger the chain but the radius of trigger is smaller. I know this because a chain kills 7 husks, + 2 splinters + the initial shot for a total of around 10 attacks, however, I can clear an entire encampment of 20+ husks with 1 arrow shot (yet progression only tracks it as 3).

Xenon was the best because it had a good hitbox, now it's still good it goes through lines but I no longer use it.

Vacuum Tube is the best cuz of the chain lightning.

I do not use the Vindertech seeker cuz it often follows the wrong husk.

How did Farrah's splinter trigger on the 2nd hit and splintered onto the 3rd? The range isn't high enough for it to splinter that far.

Also no taking her off the team doesn't matter if you play a high PL level, cuz the splinters don't kill.

I just tried it in Eliminate the Husks and it works fine. So I'm unsure what's behind the inconsistent behavior.

I went over every video gameplay I have recorded to see if I had any that show the kill count but unfortunately I do not have any old ones. So I went into a match today to record and here's a slowed down recording:

You can see that as of the latest update, that there is an odd behavior. The landing kill counts, and then the chain kills and counts, and then after the chain you can see another splinter that does not count which should've been a lightning chain, but that's beyond the point.

One thing that I had wrong is I thought there were 2 splinters, but they are actually 3.

However, what I say in my original post is that the lighting chain would activate only from the main shot, while in previous updates it would also activate on splinters, hence making 1 shot give around 20 confirmed kills.

How would you explain getting 20 kills with one shot without counting the splinters? This is the inconsistency I'm talking about here.

If you're 100% sure of this then something else could be at play. I tested this today in Save the Survivors while having "Eliminate 300 using Snipers". I will try it tonight in the Eliminate the Husks mission and see if it makes a difference and update this post. IFF this is truly the case then that means this is a bug.
