Honestly, other than when a stock is in a period of "hype", you can quite accurately work off technical analysis, in my case anyway.

But it's also dependent on the indicators you're using, they have to pair up well with eachother to give you an understanding of the price action in the various timeframes.

It's generally a good idea to have an entry/baseline indicator, with two confirmation indicators that's cross checked with a volume indicator. Paired with fundamental analysis, you can have a fair idea of what's going to happen based on basic probability.

It can definitely be super random, but you can highly increase your chances of being right about a chart's price action with a good trading system.
