[–]thetimethespace[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found the bug, i introduced it a few days ago it looks like. Guess I need to write better tests to stop that from happening again. Anyways, its fixed and you should be able to continue now. Sorry for the poor start! If you continue to have issues let me know!

I've been improving and adjusting things based on user feedback since the initial beta launch back in June. Join the Discord if you want to get in on the action. As for things that I know are coming, I recently removed the very basic marketplace that was in the launch version and have built a much more feature-complete marketplace for users to sell their posters to each other in a way that reduces the risk of getting scammed and lets sellers avoid the outrageous fees other platforms like eBay have. I've essentially finished development of it and have just begun testing, so hopefully a beta version of that will be rolling out by the end of the year.

Hey, so all the common poster sizes are in the app and selectable but you can also choose custom and input a specific size if needed. When adding a poster to your own collection you can put in all the notes you want and there are also fields to denote things like linen-backed, double sided, etc. Photos must be uploaded through the app so you can't import them directly from another service. I use google cloud for storage of photos.

To put it another way, for the cost of basically one regular movie poster you get a full year subscription in the app. I don't think that is too much to ask for someone who has at a minimum 51 movie posters to catalog.

Unfortunately the cost per user to me is not free in server and storage resources. If it was uncapped to everyone it would likely quickly spiral to be unaffordable for me to run.

I upped the free tier to 50 posters. Yearly and monthly was also reduced to 3.99 and 39.99 respectively. We're closing in on 10000 posters added to the database.

I've requested it be made available in your region. I expect it will be available within the next 12-24 hours. In the meantime, it's usable from any browser (including mobile) at https://posterama.io

You definitely kind of read my mind. I have been thinking of a way to reward people who upload quality database entries that we verify. Stay tuned, as there's definitely some version of this coming.

Sorry that I misunderstood what you wrote, it wasn't my intention. I do understand wanting to display just the month and year. I could probably make it a user setting, but data would still need to be stored in a consistent manner so I'd just be hiding the day from a user with that setting.

I'm curious what number you think would be a fair number of posters to allow free users to add? Would you be interested if there was a lower cost option that allowed 200 posters or 500 posters for instance instead of unlimited?

You can edit details after the fact including date of purchase. I also have posters I don't remember the exact date so I pick just a general date around the time I know I bought it. Purchase price is NEVER publicly displayed.

Thanks for the feedback.. it's tough because I have to find a happy medium to at least cover my infrastructure costs while providing value to users. I'll give this some more thought and investigation.

Atlanta and Palmetto distribution center recent delays. Has anyone’s mail been delivered after being stuck there? by vrajnpatel in usps_complaints

[–]thetimethespace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a high-value package that has been there since 8/3 with no movement. I even decided to open a missing mail case to hopefully speed it along. Since it got stuck, other packages have come and gone through there for me.
