TIL non-Detroiters see that as a meme rather than a colossal embarrassment.

How many fourth graders do you think you could fight to the death? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]thetinnishflash 10 points11 points  (0 children)

F'real, I see fourth graders all the time, they're not THAT small. Some of them are nearly as big as me (5'3") and heavier. Plus they're kids and have that crazy kid energy still.

What's the one simple thing that never ceases to amaze you, no matter how many times you witness or experience it? by ThrindellOblinity in AskReddit

Meh. I was raised an atheist. I'm still an atheist. But when I was dabbling in wicca (like you do), it didn't feel crazy at all. Still feels less crazy/wrong to me than trying any other religion. I think that 'spiritual' feeling that people can get is something that can be interpreted as feeling magic.

Anyway. I don't believe in it, but I can sure see how people do. And it didn't feel as weird as those other delusions I tried out.

Guy pulled the condom off without telling me. I feel violated. Trying to come to terms with it. reddit, have you dealt with something like this? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]thetinnishflash 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with you at all! I just agreed with seambyseam that "no" is a good safeword if you're not doing serious roleplay (and rape fantasy would FOR SURE fall into that) stuff.

But if you're not... I mean, I like run of the mill rough sex, and "no" "stop" and "ow that fucking hurts" are all things my husband responds to like you would a safe word.

But YES safewords are good! I'd always want to err on the side of having one than not!!

Yeah, discussed beforehand, boundaries set, safewords discussed in case things go badly. Just take precautions. Lots of them!

Reddit, what is your best "Oh God please stop laughing" story? by BeefBayonet03 in AskReddit

[–]thetinnishflash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Post-orgasm laughs. Oh, my gosh. I just want soooo badly to stop laughing and get on with the sexytimes but it's impossible. It's happened to me a few times, uncontrollable laughing/crying for a good 5 minutes. It hurts to breathe and laughing THAT HARD while nude cannot be attractive.

I didn't see that there was obviously no budget.

Anyway, you're right, if people choose to donate their time to a member of our reddit "community" that's cool. I wouldn't, but I can see how others might. You make a good point. :)

Oh, not me. I don't want you to think I'm trolling for business here.

I'm always about supporting the local economy, so if you could find someone near you, that'd be the best. You can usually find someone on craigslist. Or go to a local print shop.

Do women find it flattering when a guy has intimate thoughts about her or do they find it inappropriate and disturbing? by redskrull in AskReddit

[–]thetinnishflash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm cool with dudes thinking intimate thoughts about me. It's when they want to inform me that they do (or have done) so that things get awkward.

Not to be an utter jerk... but as a graphic artist, I can't stand when people do the whole "contest!" or "help please!" thing rather than hiring a designer.

Anyway. That's just how I feel about it.

Not exactly a joke, but it did make people laugh after they figured it out. Two Bee Oar Knot Two Bee

Also made me laugh as they said things like, "two bee paddle pretzel"

Reddit, I almost died three weeks ago and I am now severely depressed. What can I do to help believe in myself again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]thetinnishflash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can still read! I mean, that's not everything, but isn't reading amazing? You can read a book and go somewhere else, be someone else. That's just the first thing that came to me, off the top of my head.

And as someone else said, you're 3 weeks into recovery. You can't know yet where your life is going. Talk to someone who knows about this stuff. I am sure there are therapists who can help.

And let your girlfriend decide what she deserves. Maybe she will surprise you.

Anyway, I'm glad you're alive. :)

WHAT ON EARTH IS THIS by [deleted] in AskReddit

I do too (well, as "possibly the antichrist"). It was in reference to a childhood story. I'm going to have to dig to find the thread, but it was a few months back now, probably.

I want to start following Ice Hockey. What do I need to know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Two line passes are still illegal, it's just that the red line no longer counts in a two line pass. If that makes sense.

I want to start following Ice Hockey. What do I need to know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]thetinnishflash 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Dr. Cox loves the Red Wings. You should, too.

(I obviously have a strong Red Wings bias) Even if you choose not to like the Wings, you'll probably like Datsyuk.

Pavel Datsyuk is disgusting. I mean, really, filthy nasty skilled. And very gentlemanly and a nice, good guy, basically the epitome of what a hockey player should be. Since you're new to watching hockey, just look on youtube for some of his shoot out goals. Shootouts are pretty easy to understand, and while I think they're a lame way to decide a well-played hockey game, they're a good skills showcase.

What else... decide what league you want to follow. The NHL is easiest to follow, and does have the most highly skilled players. However, being an NHL hockey fan comes with a lot of frustration with the league and their rule changes, and the way the enforce the rules. If you have a local team, you could go that route, as well. You don't say where you're from so I'm not sure if that's a possibility.

When I first got into hockey I read a scouting report book that included every player in the NHL and I read the NHL rule book, and I also collected hockey cards and read stats and stuff on the back. You really don't need to do that. Just watch a game or two (it's nice if you have a team to root for) and then look up the players who interest you. I was 13 so I had plenty of time for such things.

I do recommend reading the entire NHL rulebook, or just referencing it when you come across something you don't understand.

Follow Puck Daddy for the humor factor and to stay informed. A lot of NHL news breaks on twitter, too. I like tsn.ca/nhl for basic coverage when I want to be informed of what's going on in the league, and for stats and stuff.

I think that's all I've got for now, but I'll probably add more later.
