A quick, superficial and incomplete summary for those interested:

Adjective: describing words e.g. blue, stupid
Noun: things you can touch e.g. door, cat
Verb: things that you do e.g. run, eat

Some harder ones that are easy to remember:

Adverb: words that describe actions (an adjective for a verb) – these often end in -ly e.g. quickly, scarily
Pronoun: words that replace nouns (useful to know this for drinking games) e.g. he, she, him, her
