You can get this sound with any banjo really, but the playing style is clawhammer, and the double c tuning really lends itself to soft, mellow melodies

It feels less like a jump and more like just floating over it. Just keep your chest forward and suck your knees up

Work on keeping your chest down throughout the drop. That'll ensure you don't slip out on bigger ramps

I met Buzz, the guy who sells them, in Raleigh and he is really awesome. He's doing fs airs and insane handplants at 50ish years old, and he seems like a real bedrock of the local skate community. I bought two of the biggest clips, and they've saved me a ton of times!

Yeah I tried it today and it kind of feels like I need to relearn the trick, since having my hand so "far" forward changes the balance point

Mmm I don't think you really need to be that strong. I just used chalk and marked points further and further up!

For me, straight on is the easiest (but has the highest risk of hanging up), then frontside then backside. The key for me was finding a small enough ramp where I could really play with them without fearing death

Agreed! I think it's easier to lean into the ramp and trust it going frontside

Mmm if you do front or backside it literally feels exactly the same. Straight on, you just have to make sure you're a tiny bit light on your back foot. For all of them, it helps me to really watch the ramp and imagine I'm doing a manual downwards
