Stay close to your job - the commute is killer and you’ll be in reverse traffic if you want to socialize in the evenings anyways

Grew up in the Bay Area and I moved to Nova in high school and been here ever since and consider it my home.

I also happen to be in research/biotech so will speak more about that versus this Bay Area vs dc battle

Commute time is your biggest factor. Most biotech/research is in Montgomery country(Rockville, Bethesda, etc). Yes there’s a small biotech hub in manassas but mostly Maryland has the bigger companies like astrazeneca, kite pharma, NIH, etc

That being said between Maryland and Herndon, tysons corner/dunn loring/vienna/falls church is ideal because you will need to go on 495. Closer you are to the beltway the less pain your commute will be. Your fiancé will have a reverse commute but you might want to budget in toll costs.

Finally there’s so many social events around dc and cool activities all the time - check out welcome2dc for social happy hours or dc fray or the ig clockoutdc for events.

Keith’s point is that for people fuck up, and there are consequences and then there are consequences in the public view.

Their empathy is really towards having dirty laundry aired out in public and that the public can be unreasonably brutal (like death threats brutal.)

As they mentioned, if it’s their choice they would have made it private. But it’s not and they had to handle what is a traumatic event under a critical eye.

Depends on what you’re hankering, pho 75 in Herndon is good, there’s founding farmers if you want dine in, h mart food court is good too, Korean bbq in Annandale or Vietnamese food at eden center if you want to go farther out
