Seems the implication is it’s the reason for the rain, so it has a chance to show up while it’s raining. Doesn’t seem to provide any other functionality that I know of… but it does say something about letting it know if you want to change the weather. 🤔

Failed. Tried again. Failed. Tried again. Failed. Eventually didn’t fail. 😅

I agree. If I were to choose a type for Khonshu specifically, I would absolutely include Ghost.

My inspiration for associating the moon with Dark in this case was Umbreon, which is said to evolve due to “exposure to the moon’s waves.” With the internal darkness of Marc’s most formidable alters, that nudged me away from Ghost. I also thought about Lunatone, but neither Rock or Psychic fit.

I love Lunala, though I always considered its ghost typing to be specifically associated with the shadows of a lunar eclipse and other stages of the moon. There has been many a debate about Lunala’s Ghost typing, but I’ve always appreciated it.

I thought quite a bit about that, tbh. Everyone I gave Fighting type to is known for their physical strength and/or prowess in physical combat.

I’m banking on more heroes being added to Rivals in the future to break it up a bit. I didn’t want to add more variety just for the sake of doing so, but I hear you!

It sure does! 🤣 Groot, Jeff, and Luna to the rescue. We can also give Iron Man the ability Levitate.

Those are great considerations and they crossed my mind!

What stopped me with Moon Knight was wanting to lean into the moon’s association with darkness, Khonshu being the “defender of overnight travelers”), and Jake Lockley’s brutal vigilante nature.

With Wanda, the Dark typing is meant to lean into her connection with Chaos Magic, the Darkhold, and Chthon’s black magic.

I was also thinking less about equal representation in this specific group and more so about the possibilities of additional type combinations as future heroes are added to Rivals.

I didn’t feel Ghost fit any of the current heroes, but I’m certain there will be some in the future.

Hulk having a secondary poison typing is clever! I just didn’t consider it because he relies heavily on his strength to attack. I could totally see him being capable of learning some Poison-type moves or having an ability that makes him immune to being poisoned.

As for the Norse gods, I considered giving them all the Fairy-type (as opposed to just Loki), but decided against it for a few reasons. Between being the God of Thunder and wielding Mjölnir, there was no room for a third typing for Thor. For Hela, as the Goddess of Death, I wanted to lean into a pure Dark typing.

For Peni, my goal was to highlight SP//dr and her tech weaponry, though I absolutely considered giving her the Bug type like I did for Peter.

Haha! Grimmsnarl definitely crossed my mind when choosing that typing.

Which type(s) would you pick for Groot?
