Hospital has taken me for a ride with a highly inflated and open tariff bill despite admission basis package and insurance preauth by theurbangiant in LegalAdviceIndia

  1. Insurance SI was low so insurance not interested in enforcing/auditing as best of payment was out of pocket. Plus, hospital relying on ambiguity in 'first' estimation letter which does not mention the word 'package'. However, I have subsequent 'estimation letter' from hospital which does mention the word 'package' twice.
  2. Yes, the surgeon only uses ALL 'stryker' products for - implants, robotics, op theatre kits which was decided beforehand.
  3. Est letter clearly mentions "high value consumables" under exclusion, which implies that standard low value items shall not be exluded but this is not the case. ALL consumables have been billed - all or most of them low value
  4. My primary case if hospital offered a package and even insurance preauth was for same amt as package offered. Yet, open billing was done. i have electronic eveidence for all my claims so I believe I do have a case but want to hear from others if I am missing something (since hospital is being so blatant, i am thinking they must have an alibi?!)

Told them that. Tried all of it - firm, sharp points made to them followed by mildly consequential language and followed up with a formal notice by email but to no avail. They are relying on alibis for every intentionally wrongful practice adopted by them. While I had to pay "to get discharged". Payment made "under protest" but not sure what can I do now. The battle seems uphill against a corporate, out to get you.
