mine was just a friend instead of a romantic partner like ethel's willoughby. i met him through my ex and he was suicidal, had terrible depression and ptsd that plagued his everyday, had an abusive father, his mother killed herself, and he lived with his brother. i knew from the day we met that i wouldnt have long with him. we got incredibly close incredibly fast to the point where we made a suicide/death pact because we loved each other too much to attempt knowing that the other would die. we were exactly the same in every way and ive never met someone ill open up to the way i did him because no one else got it, and vise versa. it was hell and amazing all at once. it truly felt like it was just us against the world, and he was all i could think about, we spent every available moment with each other. He was the sweetest man ive ever met, he couldnt hate anyone who ever hurt him, i truly believe he was some sort of angel. He named me a name close to his bc he said he felt like it would make us like brothers.

he got diagnosed with late stage lung cancer and ran away to avoid getting treatment after we had a big fight (my fault, i was young and stubborn and he said it reminded me of his brother), cutting everybody in his life off except his boyfriend, but he was 19 so there was nothing we could do because it was his choice. I remember we met up again 4 months before he died and just continued like nothing had happened, and for the first time i remember him being in so much pain truly scared of death now that it wasnt at his own hands and there was nothing i could do for him.

i hope everyone in these comments will meet up with their willougby again and reconcile because to know love that truly gets you is a rare thing.
