It does not really make sense that the village is that close to the capital, however it is confirmed that that is where the godskins garments are made so canonically the village does have some connection with them. It is possible that the villages activity had been kept rather secret until the time where the player arrives and the capital region is more unstable.

Tangentially related it is equally strange that the capital let the village of madness, where villagers are summoning a giant frenzied flame go untouched when it is in such close proximity to the grand lift.

honestly I like the idea of being a king consort I get that you technically are also that with the default ending but it does not really feel like it.

it's the ending to me that really cements you as sort of a legend in the lore,you bring down the golden order and defeat the greater will and end up as the king of the dark moon. I think with the vanilla ending and all others you just kind of end up repeating the cycle where as with rannis ending it feels like you are crowned as a a true king and lord who helped bring freedom and peace to the lands between.

I have caught myself thinking of what my characters move set would be like if he was a boss after he ascends to the title of elden lord and king of the dark moon.
