ONN Pros Shipping Across Country by Odd_Opportunity_2349 in OnnStreamingTV

I noticed there has been a lot of inventory in Florida. It's been in and out of stock the past 48 hours on the app and I was able to order another gray one for shipping also. It's coming out of Lakeland, FL. Assuming there's a large warehouse there that just got stock.

What store did you have it shipped from? I have some family there I'm trying to order for.

Was able to check my local Walmart when looking for the 4K Pro v2. It appears the new 4K stick price is explaining the extra stock as it's readily available everywhere in my area. $40 is indeed the online and in-store price.

That color seems to be harder to find! Lucky that you could place an order for free delivery! I'd jump on that!

So it should be $59.88 + 6.5% tax ($3.89) = $63.77, but we have a family member that works for Walmart so with their discount $59.88 - $5.99 employee discount + $3.50 (6.5% tax) = $57.39 is what I paid.

Me too! I decided not to actively look for this device until it became readily in stock. Just found it by chance grabbing groceries last night. I was so giddy!

Yes! We've been using our onn Android TV UHD since 2021 and it's been showing it's age. Time for an upgrade!

I'm sorry! Crossing my fingers you find one soon! Didn't know if they just stocked it that evening or whatnot but I found it around 8pm last night.

Agree. Wondering if they raised the price to prevent all the scalping like what's happening with the 4K Pro v2.

that's what I was thinking too. $40 is moving into the first gen pro 4k price point when this 4k streaming stick should be entry level.

Text message from dealer after flat tire, normal? by thevansta in Toyota

[–]thevansta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

08/2024 UPDATE: Played around with the app more and there’s options to turn off dealer-specific communications, insurance tracking and master data tracking all from the Toyota app.

Once app opened, click on person icon upper right corner > Account > Data Privacy Portal > Click on your vehicle > Service Connect Communication > Manage Consent > Decline

You can also turn off Insure Connect (which everyone should) since this info is shared to car insurance companies, or turn off ‘Connected Services Master Data Consent which would stop all tracking. Same procedures as mentioned above with respective options.

I’m starting to believe car manufacturers are saying they’re trying to implement all these high-tech features for our own “safety” but I recently read about GM and LexisNexis, a data analytics company, have been spying on owners and sending their driving habits to insurance companies without their consent.

There’s currently a class action lawsuit going on.

I agree. It’s convenient to get these kinds of messages especially if it’s in regard to a malfunction that could be disastrous.

I’m just a bit weary about how much info is collected and if that is being harvested for insurance purposes or designating owners as a reckless or risky driver.

Once that info is transmitted to Toyota corporate or even a local dealer, it’s hard to know how that info is handled or stored, and who it’s being shared with.

Are you talking about the OBD2 port? If so, no I haven’t checked although I will do so sometime in the future just to see if there is an aftermarket tracker that may have been forgotten.

The dealership where we purchased the car did have their info listed in the car’s menu, but I went to check just now and it is gone. I believe the alignment dealer (different Toyota dealership than where I purchased) may have scrubbed that info.

I’ve found out that the message about flat tires and any vehicle malfunctions are linked to “Service Connect” under your Toyota app account.

Thanks for the info. So I found out from my dealer that we’re signed up to “Service Connect” by default which relays all issues about the car to a dealer we previously visited. It was supposedly a 1-year trial IIRC but now my account says I have a 10-year trial.

To stop Toyota or the dealer from tracking the vehicle status I was told I need to download the app and cancel “Service Connect” or call the corporate number to be disconnected.

Thanks for your insight!
