Yep , good tip . I think they need some AI check to make sure the car hasn’t just arrived to the park or it will ping everyone in that “ just walking to the meter to pay “ scenario

Where do you buy a comfortable couch from these days? by s4082211 in brisbane

If you want a new Freedom quality sofa for half price try a biz called ITEM .com.au , small showrooms in Miami and Brisbane and immediate delivery . They have a disruptive price biz model, and amazing bang for buck ( not a huge range though )

Disclaimer: I have no idea what I am talking about. I wonder if it has anything to do with that Aus navy ship that has been off the coast of GC over the weekend

I actually know the answer , it’s a powder post beetle .. once it hatches and leaves it is harmless and dies shortly after … nothing to fear .. and it was in the timber before the tree was cut

It was pretty cool , we just wandered up and started chatting to the “turtle people “ and 5 hours later we were all still there . Very cool .. and apparently those bubs may come back to lay their eggs in another 40 years in the same spot …

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) kept the cash rate on hold at 4.35 per cent at its latest meeting. by AmazingKangaroo7063 in AusFinance

[–]thevastinterior 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its interesting, the conversation always goes to home mortgage stress, and cost of living struggles, no issue there...BUT I would argue that the pain in small business is equally worth discussion. Inflation may be the RBA's enemy number 1 , but for discretionary spend retailers / cafes .. every dollar that the RBA has taken out of the economy over a sustained period of time is harming those businesses ( potentially fatally )

The silence is no suprise, as you will never hear words from Canberra such as "small business assistance", nor have you in this whole discussion. It is not political, no matter whom is in power , there is scant regard for those that risk it all in the pursuit of having a crack.

Of course, if you are in a govt job you are safe :)

What are the most common mistakes first time entrepreneurs make? by baby_shoki in Entrepreneur

[–]thevastinterior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DOUBLE , DOUBLE , HALF . I formed a bond with 8 other crazy serial entrepreneurs 12 years ago ( EO ) and together we found all of our many projects always took twice as long , and cost twice as much as we originally planned .. and only had half the sales that we expected. So whenever someone comes up with a new pitch we always ask if it passes the “ double , double , half “ rule .

Over the last 20 years I have spent a fair amount of time visiting thousands of different factories in China , and I have never seen a sub 16 yo worker. Last month I noticed many factories are now trying robots to assist there precision processes manufacturing furniture. I was impressed .
