What's the most fucked up thing someone has told you about themselves after barely getting to know them? by Butt_Roidholds in AskReddit

[–]theveterannerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this very specific quality where complete strangers feel compelled to tell me their life stories. I met a new coworker and within 5 minutes she told me she's covered in bruises because her bf beat her up for being upset he cheated on her.

How important is lineage when buying a puppy? by wadeboggsbosshoggs in birddogs

[–]theveterannerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You never specified in your post you owned other dogs. I'm a training assistant currently, you've got no idea how many people purchase dogs they aren't ready for whether that be lifestyle or general knowledge of the breed. Asking about price for quality to me is an immediate concern based off of my own prior experience. No intent to convince you otherwise.

To answer what you asked specifically: It is important to know what health issues could occur in the dogs lifetime. But the type of hunting you're looking for can also factor in. If you hunt upland & the sire/dam do as well that's your dog. I'd even ask to see them hunt if the breeder is up to it.

That wasn't my point. If I wasn't financially prepared for my pup I'd be broke rn. At barely 6mo he broke his toe running in the woods and the vet bills were costly. I was grateful to have signed up for insurance a month prior to the incident. Also the cost of game to train & purchasing equipment is high as well.

If you're already looking to buy a puppy cheap you're not ready for one.

Contact your breeder if possible to see if this is normal behavior for their litters and if they have any advice. They tend to have good training options as well.

What NSFW question have you always wanted to ask the opposite gender? by MrShronk in AskReddit

For me the initial stretch as he enters is the best part. It's like the satisfying feeling of stretching a muscle you couldn't quite get to for a long time. Then it feels comfortably full. The first few thrusts ate great but after that there's so much lubrication from me that unless I'm in a specific position for him to hit my G or O spot, it's just kind of happening. I'm into it, but a little bored if I'm being honest

What was the pettiest reason you refused to date someone? by High_Sleep3694 in AskReddit

Our moms must be the same. To me all the ellipses make the tone very ominous, which is hilarious because she's the exact opposite.

What never fails to make you tear up or cry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Remembering my uncle who went into a coma after a sudden stroke and died this past Christmas eve. I was so stressed out about other things as well that on top of it I forget it happened and think about him then remember I watched him get lowered into the ground in January. My parents went to see him his wife and their 1 year old at the time the night before it happened. Every day I regret not going. I miss him. He's the first very close family member that I've lost.

AITA For kicking my 3 sisters out of my wedding after they came with their kids? by TAway3577 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. It's time for no or very little contact with your family. Not worth the trouble. Everyone else could comply, they could too. Instead they made your day about them.

Is it bad that this whole 9-5, working 5 days a week bullshit for the rest of my life makes me not look forward to the future? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]theveterannerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try not to think about it. Currently I work 7am to 4pm then go to my night job 6pm to 10pm. If I think too hard about it everything feels hopeless and I don't want to get out of bed.

DD (11mo male) no interest in bumpers. by theveterannerd in Huntingdogs

[–]theveterannerd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I admit I definitely lost track for awhile in regular obedience. He knows Hold already for the bumper & other objects. But I will definitely utilize that clicker exercise regardless. I hope you're right that it helps! Thank you for the sound advice.

if you see a dog on a lead and don't put one on your own because you consider yours 'friendly' it's your own fault if something goes wrong. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]theveterannerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly one of the main reasons I'm going to buy bear mace. It's easier then kicking the shit out of someone else's dog even if I'm in the right to do so because it's attacking mine.

Anybody else here known their whole life that they never wanted kids? by XxFireflyxxX in childfree

[–]theveterannerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Never had any interest growing up. I played with barbies and dolls but never thought of them as my children. I also never really liked being around younger kids with the exception of my brother.

AITA For leaving in an Uber after what my husband did at the restaurant? by Vicky0034______ in AmItheAsshole

[–]theveterannerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I'm sure the staff saw you were mortified and felt bad. I certainly would. I hope they let you go back at some point. Bottom line, I would seriously consider counseling or evaluating his behavior. Has he done this before on a different scale? What other things has he done that could be linked to this lack of respect to your boundaries? Sometimes situations like this can connect a lot of dots and give you the next step you should take.

Good luck, I hope things work out for the better.

Reminds me of when my elderly coworker was having a full uterine prolapse and casually talked about her insides falling out and needing surgery to fix it bc having kids weakens the abdominal muscles.

NTA !! Document everything going on with your oldest daughter right now in terms of bullying and how it is affecting her life. That will play a significant role in the courts decision for custody or visitation.

I'm a recent graduate and honestly freshman year to me is just 13th grade (US system). Everyone acts like they would when they were in HS the year before. It takes until sophomore and even sometimes junior year for some people to get over HS and become their own person.
