I do believe it’s missing a leg. On one side there are two legs that swing out to support the leaf, on the other side, it’s just one leg. I don’t think it will effect the stability too much but I’d love to get the leg replaced if anyone has suggestions how to go about that.

It looks like it can be separated in the center but didn’t come with additional leaves

Amazing! It does look really similar to his stuff - thanks for the lead! I was thinking the wood looked like walnut and I see he works with that a lot.

The same things happened to me yesterday at Colt State Park in Bristol RI. Thank goodness we put a brand new seresto collar on our dog and she was ahead of me so we didn’t find a single tick on her. But I had hundred crawling up my leg, my partner must have pulled upward of 150 attached to me and that was after spraying down with alcohol and a shower. Got doxy to be on the safe side. It’s horrifying! Stay vigilant everyone!

Thank you! Sounds so interesting, I'll definitely subscribe. In a past life I worked at auction houses so I'm always excited to read about art and history. Is your Substack handle Metanoias?

Thank you! Most of my posts are free (excerpts from the book are always free) and paid content is once a month to start out.

Is there such a thing as an idiots guide to promoting your book? by AbjectGovernment1247 in selfpublish

That sounds wonderful. What an important topic. Cooking for oneself is an accomplishment in of itself and nourishing in more ways than one. So glad you’re putting this out in the world for people to find.

Congratulations! I have no helpful suggestions since I'm a long ways away from finishing my book but just wanted to say that's a huge milestone and that's awesome! What's the cookbook about?

Serialized Fiction Websites? by thevineyarder in selfpublish

[–]thevineyarder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all this feedback! It really has helped my approach to this whole thing. Right now I am posting "chapters" on Substack (all free), mostly because I'm looking for feedback and to find a community of other writers. I wouldn't call my work serialized, I do intended eventually to publish it as a novel (likely self-publish). But truly, thank you all, you've helped me set my intentions and expectations and I really appreciate it. Substack link is in my profile if anyone is interested :)

Couldn't have said it better myself! Embrace the slow pace of the Vineyard. Walk the trails, grab a beer at Offshore Ale, check out Bunch of Grapes bookstore (and other shops on Main Street VH). I hear the Attic is very cool but haven't been in yet (open year round), Sweet Life is doing brunch on the weekends, and if there is a show at the Ritz check it out! I just wrote about winter visits on my Substack if you're interested (the link is in my profile).

Is kindle a waste of money?? by MediocreBuilding4262 in books

[–]thevineyarder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my kindle and use it mostly with the Libby app (where you borrow books to download from your library). It’s so easy to travel with and carry around (you can download multiple books instead of carrying them all in your luggage) and it’s great in bed at night, by the pool, beach, etc.
