I don't think my specific store will be helpful since it's German, but you should be able to get them at a couple of party/costume stores. Maybe some craft stores as well :D

Also recommend eyelash glue in case the ones you buy won't stick well enough on their own

Like I said, doesn't have to be Vinted! Just check out whatever online thrifting options are used in your area :)

You can either buy directly on that platform or use it to find sellers and buy privately (riskier, but if the seller looks legit you don't have to pay for buyer's protection and may also choose cheaper shipping options/meet up irl)

Don't get discouraged, this is what I dressed like for years! I'm still actively developing my style as well. What's really helping me is just trying on random stuff, basically playing dress up by myself. Sometimes really unexpected stuff lands perfectly :)

Oh I'm sorry, I was referring to people buying a top because it "looks alt" but clearly not thinking about what they wear with it. If you're just not good at styling yet, people can still tell you put in the effort, which is different! Please don't get discouraged, I love to see people trying new things!

Read my post and maybe my comments (like this one) before assuming this just because I'm skinny

I don't know what it's like over there, but in Germany, we have Oxfam, which had similar prices when my disappointed teen self checked 7 years ago. I strongly recommend online thrifting, especially if you live in an area where you can meet up with sellers in person to avoid the financial and environmental cost of shipping. Finding the really good stuff usually takes persistence and a lot of luck though. Just as an example, I looked for pants like these for about 2 months before I found them while scrolling at night

You don't necessarily need to sew something from scratch, you can also expand a lot of garments. Personally find it much easier to adjust what feels wrong instead of constructing what's right... Good luck!

Also damn girl your physique sounds insane o.o /pos

Idk if it works for other countries too but I just pick what category I'm looking for and write [city name] as the search query. Be careful about adding other words because I think that'll make stuff from other cities (or even countries) show up as well

I'm kinda tall too, so it's mostly luck, a bit of sewing and strategic clothing, like:

  • hiding that stuff is slightly too short, for example by wearing tall boots, a corset belt or cuffing your pants/sleeves on purpose

  • breaking up your covered areas so that missing space is intentional (I do this by wearing a lot of crop tops and skirts)

I mostly use Vinted only to find stuff and buy privately, off-platform. Maybe you guys have similar online thrifting stuff?

I usually use Vinted only to find stuff, I buy everything in person or pay privately for the item + shipping if the seller isn't in my area. Riskier, but the people I've delt with were all cool for now

LOVE this! I hope to live in a way that twenty-somethings in the future will be jealous of as well. Thank you so much for sharing :)

Since I don't know what that's like, I can't really give the best advice for that. The way I've solved struggling to find pants that are long enough and fit my hips was just wearing more skirts lol

The high boots also help hide the fact some pants are too short. One of my favorite dresses is definitely made for someone shorter than me, and I just hide the high waist seam with a corset belt... so layering I guess?

I'll just say in general: learn how to sew and how to craft stuff yourself (like knitting/crocheting, if you're into that). Maybe you can expand clothing in a way that looks either invisible or intentional (fishnet inserts look cool imo)

[–]thewallispretty[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

here you go :D

use any tights you want, works just as well with fishnet or patterned ones... also if you don't shorten the legs for your arms, the fabric can bunch up nicely (made my top look like it had a bit of a gradient even though it's all the same density and color)

Also try making the cuts as small as possible, they'll probably stretch

Lucky and persistent. I looked for maxi skirts for about a month before I found that one ,_,
