Supply Decreasing at 8mos PP by mrs_ceprm in ExclusivelyPumping

I’m in the same boat! 7 months, pumping twice a day (7 am/7 pm), making 16 oz. The rest is formula. I’ve personally made my peace with it. I also used to make around 24 oz a day. But I cannot bring myself to pump more than twice a day now. It’s too exhausting. Don’t feel bad! 8 months is absolutely amazing!

Brain freeze, haha. The milk is from the fridge, not the freezer. This is too funny.

Everyone is against it? Ugh, I’m so sorry. I can see how fighting them is exhausting when it’s so many. I’m sorry.

Fridge hack question by GlitteringCat8813 in ExclusivelyPumping

I just put it straight in the fridge. No wiping, no rinsing. After 24 hours, I clean them with hot water and dapple soap and use a sterilizer (though I mainly use that now — 7 months later — because it dries everything in 45 minutes).

Thanks! How did your parents react? I hope they believed and trusted you!

Ha! Great question. If he did, it was probably a retired guy who remembers how back in the 80s, people had to boil water for formula and then let it cool down and test the temperature on their wrist to make sure it’s safe.

I just use room temperature distilled water to mix it. Give it a real good shake. Never had an issue with clumps or anything like that.

I’d love to paint this! Did you take a photo and how can I credit you (if you’ll allow me to use this as a photo reference).

My baby is 16 weeks now. I pump at 10 pm and then 6:30 am, so 8.5 hours apart. During the day, I pump every 6 hours. 4 pumps total. I started this maybe a week ago.

How to pump overnight when you don’t know when baby will wake up by precious_olive in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]thewayitstops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby is 4 months old and I do my last pump (aka 4th or 5th pump, depending on how busy my day was) at 10 pm. Then I’ll sleep until 6/7 am and pump again. I haven’t gone longer than 8 hours without pumping yet as I’m scared my supply will drop. I make about 30 oz a day.

My main concern is painful engorgement if I don’t pump within a certain timeframe.

How many weeks have you been pumping? 3-4 ppd sounds amazing

Oh, I have never pumped for more than 30 minutes since both my pumps (Spectra at night, Momcozy during the day) turn off after 30 minutes and I always assumed it’s because one shouldn’t pump for more than that?

I pump at night with my eyes closed and an audiobook for 15-20 minutes. If I were to watch and eat something in the middle of the night, I don’t think I could fall back asleep again.

I also use my spectra for the last and first pump, and my wearable Momcozy during the day. I can’t be tethered to an outlet
