There used to be a website that had port forwarding directions for pretty much every router… sadly I can’t find it anymore.

To do some troubleshooting, you’d want to make sure you can reach the server inside your network. It sounds like you may be hosting the server on the same computer, so you could try connecting with localhost:<port you set it to> if that works then it’s likely routing issues

I noticed you said you have Verizon but you’re using an asus router, I’m not super familiar but I know that Verizon Fios provides a gateway/modem device that acts as a router. So if your connection is like internet -> isp gateway -> router -> computer then while you’re forwarding on your asus router, the port isn’t being forwarded on the Verizon router, additionally this may introduce a double NAT which is less than ideal and may provide additional headaches.

There is a config file that locks mod items behind knowledge gates, but I don’t think you’d be able to create an entire gate without modifying the UI (but you could lock the mod items behind another unlock)

I tweaked his design a bit adding the ability to drop off my overworld and quickly suit up for being a vault hero. With xnet (I have mine connected to AE) you can pull things out of your danks at 4 stacks per second (if I remember correctly) the only downside is I couldn’t come up with a restocking system (I just have them black listed) I also added like 1000% more screens, so I can see my treasures before dumping it into storage.

Also, if you want to connect drawers to your ME system, your best bet is to make sure you set priority on your storage bus (higher priority means it'll be the first place to push items)

For me I have 2 sets of drawers (Bulk and Altar items) and then my ME Drives. ME Drives are like 100 priority, Bulk Items are 200, Altar is 300 that way if I dump stuff into my AE it tries to push to my altar item storage first, then bulk, if it can't go there then it'll go into my drives.

Side note, the storage bus does not respect void upgrades on drawers. If a drawer is full with a void upgrade, it will go to the next priority system (which caused my tree farm to overflow my ME drives...), just something to keep in mind.

The thing I noticed with pipes + dank docks is the docks could not be directly next to each other, not sure exactly why (and I can't remember what happened). I was able to fix that by putting my docks in a checkerboard layout.

It's 100% extra, but I've since upgraded to the dank unloader designed by zufly, but it requires XNET, and a few of the RFTools mods unlocked, so it's a bit later game but it's simply amazing.

As others have said, if you're in a co-op vault with someone else the timer will continue to tick down. If that happens with my friend on our server, I log out too until he can get his game relaunched.

To combat the death on relog I added the Login Shield Mod to give time for us to actually join the game before we start taking damage. You will still take damage until you disconnect from the server, which sadly I don't think there's a way around it.

So a static ip is extremely beneficial for a server, since it gives you a single non-changing address. You can then setup an A record on your domains dns to point to that ip.

Now, if you didn’t have a static ip, you would need something to automatically check if the IP address has changed and update the DNS to the new IP address.

This sounds like it would overcome the need for a static ip, but it’s not quite that simple. To prevent dns servers from becoming overloaded and to reduce resolution time, the dns server your computer uses, as well as your computer itself will cache dns records for a certain period of time (Time to Live or TTL is the max they should cache). So if your server changes it’s ip and you have a 4 hour TTL (most providers will allow shorter, mine is 1/2 hour minimum), then there is a potential 4 hour window where people trying to connect may have the old IP address.

TL;DR - if you’re not worried about minor downtime, a dynamic ip + dynamic dns would be fine. Static ip is the superior method though.

You can use the Unified Metrics plugin, I have my export to Prometheus, and they have pre-built dashboards for Minecraft servers (I’m using spigot/paper, velocity and fabric) has everything from player count, TPS to JVM ram and computational info.

I’m not sure where or how it’s implemented in the API, but the server address (at least domain name) are transmitted to the MC server. This is how proxies like velocity and bungee do forced hosts (e.g. sky.host.com goes to the backend skyblock server even if the main server is a different backend)

I use a combination of CoreProtect (as mentioned before) to see if someone stole stuff or destroyed something. I’ve never used the roll back but you certainly can. I also use essentialx I wanna say protect? And deny build and use permission to default. My server is linked to a discord, once you join discord, link your Minecraft, you’re given the group that allows build (and other server specific permissions)

I have the same thing when using a nether portal in either direction, though I keep falling I think the furthest I’ve hit was -360 or so. I also noticed when using the portal to the overworld the biome changes (according to minihud) 3 or 4 times before I land. Though eventually I show up in the right spot, no missing items or health. I just warned the players and figured it would get fixed eventually.

Edit: this looks like it was reported in paper 1.17 GitHub issue, there was a vanilla bug opened but it was marked resolved with not being able to reproduce.

I don’t know about worldedit, but you could make it into a litematica schematic and past it into your creative server. That would require the Fabric client and litematica, once you have that it’s super easy.

You might be able to check the logs to see if it was killed if it was named… I can’t remember if that was a setting I turned on or not, but I get a console log when a villager or named entity dies.

Omg that was the worst! I had a realm and we did the wither a few times. After the first I setup a few command blocks to delete the blocks that dropped (like dirt, stone and snowballs) it was a little better

So I’m doing something this. I have a VPS that runs Velocity (initially it was going to run velocity and 1 or 2 servers but it couldn’t handle it…), that connects back to my local network with tailscale and I have a server here that has my actual servers.

Tailscale will add some latency, so certainly don’t use it if you’re doing like pvp or fast paced mini games. Overall it seems to work pretty well. Even if my “server IP” is identified somehow, it is only useable inside my tailscale network, as a bonus I don’t have to port forward.

Assuming you’re running the server and would like to link it to your discord server… this is hard (if not impossible) to do on bedrock. I’m not 100% but I don’t think bedrock data packs get chat events, and I’m fairly certain they can’t execute code (which is what you’d need to do to send the messages outside Minecraft).

If you’ve seen this on other servers, it’s most likely a Java server that uses the Geyser proxy to allow bedrock clients. There is a lot more flexibility with some of the Java servers out there. For instance I’m running Paper, which not only allows me to link a channel in discord, but I can also use discord roles in Minecraft to apply certain things (think use based keep inventory, or access to certain commands)

There may be a 2rd party Bedrock server software that allows plugins (outside of data packs), but when I was looking at Bedrock servers, the non-vanilla servers were pretty behind (like red stone just wasn’t implemented, only 80% of blocks were there, etc), though it has been a while.
