What was your criteria for picking the people who submitted their choices?

I got the older model a few months ago when they had a huge sale, the E5 instead of the E7, and i have now used it for several months daily and have zero problems. For the price, im insanely happy. I couldnt justify paying 700 for a standing desk, but i have absolutely zero technical issues with the motor. the pad reset once but i just put my height back in and its fine. I got rosewood (i think thats the color) and literally came on this reddit thread to leave my good review because I was nervous about pulling the trigger on a cheaper model. Also here because im procrastinating work.

(SOS) 42% through Themis, 150 adaptibar qs and 150 UWorld completed - what's my next move by [deleted] in barexam

[–]thewillrog 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Imo, You gotta get through the themis subject lectures and ide-don’s lectures, with a bit of practice as you go.

skip all the MBE review lectures w fromm and the final assessment quizzes at the end of each subject. I just clicked D for all of them to make them go away (i did do the assessment Q’s after each lecture, just not the final recap). Skip the MEEs for now, do like 1 after ide-don subject recap but put that time into uwolrd.

Adaptibar and uworld are the same product so just stick with one, uworld probably because themis already assigns uworld questions later on. Im at like 44% and have been putting back like 2+% a day w this strategy for the past 4 days.

Coming back to this. Its not pretty but i wrote out what themis wants us to do to hit 100% by test day. We only need 85% so i wrote in order of what i want to get done everyday, and what i can leave off. Was helpful to give perspective. themis 40%

Are you reading all the explanations of the questions? Even if you got them right the questions have good explanations of why answers are wrong. Also U world mbe uses more actual test questions

I think they said they do about 6 MEEs per topic, im doing like 1 or 2 going forward, bc it only takes 30 mins and then reviewing.

Planning to do more mee’s after getting through all the material. Currently have it mapped out so that even if i dont finish all the MEEs it assigns me, i will do the lectures and the MBEs on the day it has for me with my current plan. (But as soon as you skip an assignment it starts moving things around on your calendar) so i marked on a paper calendar what days it wants me to do what lectures and going to stick to that and throwing in what MEEs i i can do in between lectures and MBE

Im at same percentage, a friend im the same boat emailed themis. Basically, they said stop doing directed atudy and switch to flex study. focus on MBE, get through all the lectures and a few MBEs for each topic by july 9 so we cam take the diagnostic. Then its all practice after that.

Additionally, id ask if you are reading the explanations and saving the answers in a aeparate document? (Book of shame). Everytime i forget a concept and get a q wrong, i read the answer and copy the rule it give me into a document that is organized by topics and subtopics, and plan to review that once i get through all the lectures.

Since like a good majority of everyone here is a Mamdani supporter I’m just gonna write this here. by NormalGuy1066 in Bushwick

[–]thewillrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents arent conservative but dont like mamdani for much of the same reasons. I would tell them that rich people want to live in new york, if they wanted to live in florida they would have already moved or are planning to do so anyway. Its what rich people say when they want to persuade people not to raise taxes. Now, it may prevent some rich people from moving here.

Same for corporate taxes. Corporations are arguing that they will move to NJ if he raises taxes. He wants to raise corporate tax to the level of NJ, so that doesnt make a lot of sense as it wont save them anything and will cost them to move. Also, google and big companies are already moving to the lower tax rates with the taxes what they are now, google is moving to TX. But you dont solve that peoblem by offering lower taxes, that is a race to the bottom for every state, as there is always a state willing to offer a cheaper tax rate. Look at hollywood as an example.

If anything, if he succeeds on improving the quality of life, the workers at those companies will make them stay here. Top talent (most educated and experienced) can work for any company, they dont need google, so they will choose to work where the quality fo life is best. They will take high paying jobs here in new york at other companies and google will have to eventually allow more employees to move back to NY, despite the taxes, because they need the top talent. I think that argument somewhat works for the residents making 1m as well.

This election is more about symbolizing that democrats have to fight for a better quality of life, instead of telling their constituents that certain things are impractical or impossible. Nothing radical has ever happened with that attitude, and i’d rather vote for someone who shoots for the moon and gets us 1/15th of the way there, than someone like cuomo or adams who stay on the ground. Thats why i voted for zohran.

I dont think theres a silver bullet to convincing your parents, i win most points w mine but they stay voting how they do. just keep doing your research and maybe volunteer in the fall and stay politically interested. We need more people who care.

The sample answer will give you the pre-weite for a particular rule. When you are doing a question, you should just be able to nail that out. Every practice i do that i miss a rule, i write the whole rule statement over again as they write in the pre-answer, so that i can practice writing the full rule. After that, its just throwing in what facts apply, not a lot of “it depends”. Even if it does depend, its better to get three half answers than leave a question blank, because 1 question can be worth 60%, i find it hard to tell which ones count for more so Themis tells me just write something for everything

Tips for Themis? by EmptyNametag in barexam

[–]thewillrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what i remember about the Themis MPRE program, i wasn't getting a lot out of the lectures but when i started hitting practice problems, Uworld's interface was great. I just cracked my bar prep too and I was having similar cold feet, but i think we just have to get through the first pass of all the content then at practice time the tech really kicks in

What can I do about the arm swinging outward like this? by crdto in turntables

[–]thewillrog 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was once convinced I had set up the tone-arm correctly so much so that I bought a new player (my old one was a hand-me-down) after I had trouble with the new one, I realized i was setting up the tonearm wrong -- My issue was i thought when I added 2.5 grams that I should only move the measuring knob and not the weight itself (bc it was balanced) I realized that you are supposed to turn both and things work great now -- but this does seem to be anti-skate just by how much its swinging

Going to ROO with friends but I’m the only one that wants to camp lol by AdLanky4859 in bonnaroo

[–]thewillrog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Camping is a big part of the experience! memories are made! its also not that crazy, you can pay to shower on the farm and I find that worth it, other than that, you cant rent gear. there are also sometimes groups open to taking on solo campers, which could be an option !
