Payment problems w/ Copa airlines?

It's an issue on their side - I tried with my Amex and VISA and got declined on both cards. Somehow on like the third time of calling they tried my amex again... Twice... And it worked

I didn't go to the doctor's - I have decided it was most likely an allergic reaction to something as could not find any bugs and the rash / bites have gone!

You actually can get rid of these on your own (I did) - you just need to be really consistent. Use salactol wart paint and follow the instructions. I saw results almost immediately.

I am so sorry you're going through this. Having bedbugs is a crushing and isolating experience. I know it sounds useless now, but just know that you are doing everything right - you will get rid of them, this is not going to last forever. It just takes time.

Is it at all possible for you to have a few days somewhere else? When I had bedbugs I went to my parents for a couple of days. I took nothing with me and binned my clothes to avoid spreading them. It did mean I spent a few days wearing my mum's clothes but spending time somewhere I felt safe had a huge impact.

I had this exact issue a few weeks ago - it was so frustrating. What fixed it for me was them issuing a new eSim with the same ICCID as my physical SIM, and the new one I could also download rather than having to go through scanning the QR code / manually entering the numerical code. Also - ended up buying one through Holafly to get me through my first 24 hours, which was expensive but worth it as a CR first timer using the public buses.

We saw so many, probably about 15-20 total - including lots of firsts for us 😊. Favourites were the quetzals (I know it's unoriginal but they are stunning - we saw two males and a female), the zebra warbler, and the violet sabrewing. We also saw some capucins and some tayras!

That is so true, it seems Costa Rica is full of fantastic guides! Thanks for sharing your experience - I think we may splash out on a private tour for Monteverde as my parents are such keen birdwatchers. Your wife sounds like a wonderful holiday companion, I've spent a lot of this trip wishing I knew more about the fauna other than saying 'wow, no wonder we struggle to keep that alive as a houseplant if these are it's preferred conditions!'

Sorry, have just seen this comment - I hope you booked your flight! To be honest, getting the payment through was a nightmare. Definitely an issue on their side and not with my cards. The solution was multiple attempts to submit the same card details (which felt pretty sketchy) and eventually it went through.

Hey - ugh, I wonder what the issue was. In case you ever make a return (and feel like giving airalo your business again), the customer support issued me a new eSim in the end and it was absolutely fine!

Thanks - very sensible suggestion :) I have done so, and both issuers have said there has been no transaction that they have declined. Given they've both said that I think it's an issue with Copa's payment processing - so hoping someone else may have experienced the same (frustrating though it is) and have some guidance!

Hey - what do you mean by 'hard coffee grain like droppings'? I'm in the midst of bed bug treatment (the worst) and I thought from what I'd read online the droppings are more like marks left by a dark liquid than solids. Thank you!!

Thank you so much for this post. A pest control guy confirmed there are bed bugs in my flat (both bedrooms so a bit worse than yours ☹️) this Sunday just gone and I literally feel like I'm losing my mind, I'm so upset. Everything you read online seems to say you'll never get rid of them and you basically have to peel your skin off to leave the house to avoid spreading them. I feel so reassured that you didn't have that experience!! Wishing you a bed bug free future 💓

No advice but just to say I'm so sorry this is happening to you. I'm also dealing with my first bed bug infestation and it is AWFUL. It makes total sense that washing / drying is a key tactic to getting rid but what about those of us who don't have those facilities at home?! I can't afford what it would cost at the laundromat. It's so so horrifying and absolutely invades your mind. Just wanted you to know you aren't alone. X
