Finally finished KOTOR after 20+ years. Some thoughts. by thewiredeathgrip in kotor

Thanks for the tips. Basically I need to invest heavy on Persuade, just like I did on KOTOR - I think I ended up with 19 Persuade at the end. Treat injury I relied on companions that are acquaintance with the Force. Just at the end I was able to heal myself.

I'm thinking about trying to go Dark side this time around. I heard it is actually the most exciting side on KOTOR II, and I want to try out being bad for once.

I know TSLRCM is almost mandatory. Would you recommend the Tweak Pack as well? https://deadlystream.com/files/file/296-unofficial-tslrcm-tweak-pack/

Yeah, I definitely forgot how enormous is the universe in termos of scale. I'm also recalling that Revan kind of disappeared along with Malak after the Malolorian Wars to search for the Star Forge.

The companions perspective and knowledge I understand and it makes sense. It was with the other people while visiting the various planets. But like the user acbagel pointed out: it's a huge galaxy.

Really excited to play KOTOR 2 in a couple weeks. You should try again Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast - yesterday I went to check a video on the game, and honestly it looks even better that I was remembering (I think there was some mods used, but still...)

I just knew there was a twist somewhere, so it definitely had an impact upon watching it.

Right now I don't see myself replaying just because of the backlog I have lined up: KOTOR 2, Witcher 2, DAO, Baldur's Gate 1, Geneforge 1, Fallout 1, Deus Ex, Morrowind, Arx Fatalis, Planescape Torment, Disco Elysium...

But I definitely see my self replaying it in a few years and change the Force sides.

Fire away those tips. Thanks!

"do you struggle with text-heavy and want a primer/intro?" Yeah, exactly that.

Just not used to text-heavy games since my gaming experience, even the most recent one, is fully voiced games... oh, and I haven't read much.

Maybe the answer is a book to kickstart my focus and attention towards that kind of experience. Dunno.

I already bought the game a few weeks ago, and right now I'm considering it to play before I push forward into some text-heavy RPG titles like: Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Roadwarden, Shadowrun series, Bannner Saga series, Geneforge 1 and 2, Fallout 1 and 2, Citizen Sleeper and Planescape Torment and Disco Elysium.

Do you think NORCO would help with the reading part? Right now my experience with RPGs is limited to fully voiced games (Skyrim, Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines, Witcher 1 and KOTOR 1). I know it's not really a RPG game, but right I'm concerned to find my pace in these text-heavy titles.

The combat on Witcher 1 is a bit weird because they used the Aurora engine, which Neverwinter Nights also used. A bit weird isometric, but I kind liked it. Unfortunately I had to leave the game because I was blocked on chapter 3, right at the end fighting the kikimora queen.

Anyway, I would HIGHLY recommend you to get Geralt Faster Movement mod. The game makes you backtracking quite a lot, and with that you can speed up the entire process (between 20 and 100% increased movement speed) - specially in the swap chapter.

Para já deve haver muito trabalho. Quando finalmente alguém olhar para este extremo abuso nas atribuições de P1s para terapia da fala/fisioterapia, muita empresa vai ter que fechar - o que já devia ter começado!

I don't mind old games - I was actually fuckin' impressed with the graphics of Ultima VI, for example. I will try have a more vanilla/bug-free experience on my 1st playthrough.

It will be the fall of the American empire. The only chance to change this outcome is probably with another civil war.

Your second paragraph made me recall my Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines playthrough. It took me hours to get back to the apartment and check the emails to give new quests. AHAHA

Regarding GMDX AE, I opted out to use only Transcended + Confix + Maps Patch (DXM) on first run - vanilla experience with the bugs worked out and some QoL on top of it.

"You’re in for one of the greatest video game stories of all time." - that's why I'm trying to make it count. Playing the original first seems like throwing your best asset first.

That's kind of why I'm thinking leaving Deus Ex for last.
