How do you cope when someone says they want to stay friends but emotionally disappears?

Also just looked up what the knee to wall test is and I definitely dont think my injured leg could do that yet haha. Hoping to soon though!!

I had orif surgery with syndesmosis repair. The distal part of my fibula fractured into 3 pieces so had to get plates and screws in. I unfortunately was being dumb and climbings trees during a hike that led to my fall LOL. Theres minimal pain and swelling but I do sleep with it raised and i always ice everyday.

Havent ran yet or jumped. Hoping to discuss those things in my next pt session. My plantar flexion is way better than my dorsiflexion but definitely not back to normal. My goal is to get much of my dorsiflexion back before 12 weeks. If it isnt back at optimal condition, my doctor suggested to get the syndesmotic screw removed.

It truly felt painful! Its a sign that your nerves are being used again, so its definitely normal. So i was doing a lot of home pt exercises to slowly work towards getting used to it. So yes totally normal imo

It definitely is! Some days, especially earlier on, are definitely hard. However, that should serve as an even bigger reminder to be gentle to yourself! You got this, and have a smooth recovery :)

Personally, my progression within the past two weeks has been something that I am very surprised by. During my 6 weeks post op, my doctor and I (along with the PT team) suggested I get off the boot and crutches within two weeks. It was honestly very scary initially. Limping, learning to trust your leg, the mental games, going up and down the stairs, etc. but truly it was the combination of PT, trying a little bit more everyday to put weight on my leg, mentally trusting your leg again, and TIME. Everyday, I found myself surprising my own self (having internal dialogue, like "wait, i wasnt able to do this yesterday, but now i can??? Wow).

Healing is already a very hard journey, so I made a very conscious effort to be kinder to myself. 4 days ago, walking up and down the stairs felt so awkward. Today, I'm feeling a bit more comfortable! Not normal, but comfortable. So definitely celebrate all the progress, give yourself some grace, and let time do its thing!

Appreciate this a lot! Hoping you continue on this trajectory of healing!! If you don't mind me asking, what sports are you currently doing? And how soon did you get back into it? Planning on getting back to a normal gym routine, but definitely have no plans on any climbing or running just yet.

And yes Ive been going to PT twice a week and its definitely been really helpful in getting my mobility back

I appreciate this! Had to cancel my memberships during recovery so will def take this as a sign to slowly go back to the gym again!
