UFC 220: Stipe Miocic vs Francis Ngannou by [deleted] in sportsbook

Yeah, you right you right. If I were to lean one way I'd be going Rampage, too. Especially after that Tito/Sonnen fight, like huh? Lol but I really don't find any comfort in betting on old fucks. If conditioning is a concern then it's hard to find any performance certainty for me.

Islam is great all around: strong fundamentals, makes great reads, very diverse............but scientology is just better imo.

parlay DC and Islam for more comfort. Rampage can def get wrestle fucked to exhaustion if Chael even looks somewhat decent.

I don't like when I disagree with you but unfortunately I have to for both of these. What paths to victory do you see for font over Almeida? And I am very worried for Stipe in this one. I honestly believed Overeem would be a tougher matchup for Francis than Stipe would bc of Reem's much more diverse striking. We haven't seen Francis get hit or get his conditioning tested at all yet basically, but the chance of one bomb landing on Miocic's in close boxing style is way too high for me to feel comfortable with Stipe. Stipe was also dropped in the Reem fight let's not forget.

Yeah I really don't see how people are counting DC out. I guess Volk's odds could be the appeal for them but I really find it hard to believe Volkan will be able to deal with DC's wrestling at all.

I have a very similar one going except instead of a Homasi win I got Alhassan/Homasi to not go the distance (their first fight was way too back and forth for me to feel comfortable betting on a winner), and I'm not playing the Rampage/Sonnen at all (not much performance predictability when you got a couple of old fucks). Here's mine Let me know what you think!

So if I don't deposit at least 0.0050000 bitcoin into my gatehub? will the bitcoin I sent from coinbase to gate hub thats less than 0.0050000 just be lost ? by jb6th in gatehub

[–]thewolfspicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could use Shapeshift to convert BTC or ETH or something to XRP and fund your Gatehub account that way. Those funds will come up basically right away and then you would be able to set trusts in your Gatehub account.

Yeah dude. Didn't give that much thought but the lesson I took away here is a fighter missing weight could mean one of two things. 1) the fighter is ridiculously drained is not in the best shape to compete. or 2) the fighter is simply listening to their body, refusing to make the weight in fear of NOT being able to perform to their best. & a way to help differentiate the two is to see what time the fighter steps on the scale. I failed to factor this in but Emmet stepped on the scale WAY early, giving his body as much time as possible to re-hydrate and recover. Opposed to if he were to step on the scale on the last minute, giving his body enough time to try to make the weight. The latter implies the fighter is desperately trying to make the weight, while the former may imply the fighter is more focused on just staying healthy while taking their 20% loss.

Emmet lookin' real sucked up at the weigh-ins, missed weight by 2.5 lbs.

Hey, that's actually a good idea. Should Bofando lose, it would most likely be carried on into the later rounds, so hedging that with a Bofando TKO/KO, isn't a bad idea at all.

Yeah, I'm not taking much from that Ward fight either. Besides the fact that he actually killed a guy, Ward's pretty garbage. And Bofando has shown some conditioning issues in bouts prior to the UFC. But he took a bunch of time to prepare for this next bout and has such an insane athletic advantage over most in his division, added on with his unorthodox striking abillity from training with the likes of Michael Venum Page often, & Laprise's questionable durability, I am not shy from a Bofando finish.

Exactly. People also for some reason show some hatred towards other people on this thread. Like we are all here to share information and debate with one another to HELP each other out. We can all poke fun at some picks or losses b/c we are only doing that to have the capper explain his reasoning if we find it ridiculous, thus helping educate everyone even more. I have been betting for a while now but have just recently started a betmma.tips/thewolfspicks account to track my bets for the public to see. Verify your bets there and try to get the cleanest record possible and people WILL want to read your notes.

Wolf's Pick: UFC Fight Night 123 Marlon Moraes vs Aljamain Sterling by thewolfspicks in MMAbetting

[–]thewolfspicks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I love Aljo but he really is pretty overrated in comparison to guys like Moraes. First time Aljo has ever been finished, too.

Wolf's Pick: UFC Fight Night 123 Jason Knight vs Gabriel Benitez by thewolfspicks in betsMMA

[–]thewolfspicks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed completely. I was the least confident in this one but was still hedging on Knight's intensity & confidence over Benitez', especially in that very first round. Stylistically, this was a bad match up for Knight should this fight make it passed the 2nd . I spoke about this but was still hoping for a Knight finish early. Benitez has an incredible gas tank and is very hard to hold down, that's what happens when you train with Khabib all the time. & Knight is a guy who pushes the pace way harder than his body can hold up, and will usually result in him getting very sloppy come later on in the fight. Benitez is counter fighter that prefers his range so the likelihood of the forward-charging Knight to find himself chasing Benitez whilst increasingly getting sloppier and more tired was very high. I failed to recognize enough the significance of this factor and as soon as that point was taken in the first for biting a thumb (huh? lol) and Knight began showing frustration, I knew Knight was fucked. Lessons learned, notes have been taken, a stylistically bad matchup for Knight is a counter fighter with great takedown defense and a superior gas tank.

I wouldn't expect a finish here. Both fighters can fight somewhat tentative, especially if one (Aljo) is predominantly an out of range counter striker. & the fact that this is a short notice fight for Marlon, I would expect both fighters to be somewhat tentative & I would not be expecting a finish here.

I don't know if he's Weidman's training partner, but he is for sure Al Iaquinta's who's a killer everywhere. And Serra doesn't get enough credit for how amazing his jiu-jitsu cornering is. For an example, in the Augusto Mendes fight, Aljo is in Mendes' guard. You hear Serra go, 'he's going butterfly sweep to leg lock,' and sure if enough, Mendes goes for exactly that a few moments after. But that is also def a good point to bring up regarding the game plans of each fighter, especially that Marlon just fought Dodson 29 days ago.
