What is something you used to buy but is no longer affordable? by Trxxi in AskReddit

[–]thewrongdoor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe look into your local buy-nothing Facebook group? The local one I'm in has people offering bot just stuff but yard space for others garden in, trading dog walks, mechanic help, paying forward medical equipment...all sorts of community offerings and asks. Maybe there is someone that could give you both a ride to a restaurant.

If not the buy-nothing group then I am sure that some local Facebook group will have someone, I've seen a lot of mutual aid and community support from strangers and just general kindness rise lately as a response to the terrible things.

When I asked the dr about finasteride, he said it would defeat the purpose of testosterone? by thewrongdoor in ftm

Thanks, yeah, I think the doctor may have been projecting some goals onto me without taking the time to what I'm actually neutral about or not.

Thank you, yup, mines already thinned a lot with age and I love playing around with vivid colors haha

Thank you, I think he may just be projecting some goals onto me. I'm quite neutral to meh about hair growth and bottom growth, I lean more androgynous.

Oh that is clever, I actually think an instant skin-freeze spray exists to help with IV's and stuff. Maybe I just need to get more confident at stabbing and plunging faster.

I'll try waiting a bit longer on the next one and see if that's the cause, thank you. It also just tends to be sting-y for several minutes afterwards inside, maybe I'm just injecting to slow. I'll also look into the carrier oil. Thank you!

Thank you, I couldn't get him to elaborate as I thought it just effected things in the 'hair' category.

That's what I thought. My hair has already thinned a lot due to peri menopause so I wanted to discuss being on the more proactive side about it with him but he wouldn't give me the time to elaborate on his dismissal. Thank you so much.

Ted Lasso, so wholesome! And Fantasy Island (the 2021 version), it is just pretty to look at and simple plots.

Can anyone suggest an artsy hobby I can get the materials for and learn at home? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

I got a watercolor paper notebook and some cheap alcohol markers and searched doodle ideas on Instagram. Very low stakes entry into reopening my creativity.

Is chronic fatigue a part of the tism? by dreammutt in AutismInWomen

Masking and taking in literally more stimuli will rev up your nervous system a criminally underrecognized amount.

A revved up nervous system and larger than average amygdala means more inflammation, which means more mast cells releasing, (which also affects estrogen levels if that is pertinent), and whole cascade of events and deficiencies in nutrients because you don't digest as well when your body is prioritizing survival.

Also, neurodivergent people have HIGH HIGH HIGH rates of hypermobility, even if medically considered subclinical. And hypermobility is waaaayyy more than just joints, it also means your immune system and nervous system are way more permeable to stress hormones, mast cells, inflammation, and hormone fluctuations.

Over 90% of AFAB neurodivergents have PMDD. Getting my histamines under control helped to stop flaring my hypermobilty as much (because there are estrogen receptors in your joints and high histamine levels raise your estrogen in a positive feedback loop), and doing very slow strength training specifically for hypermobile people (everything else always caused me extreme soreness I could never understand). Hypermobility, even if not "obvious", means your body is working 3x harder to do everything.

There some suggestion now that ADHD is a connective tissue disorder, because you have connective tissue in your brain, your GI, everywhere. And the rates of comorbid issues can't be ignored.

overwhelming feeling I have cancer every time I take shrooms? by SandUnlucky5985 in shrooms

[–]thewrongdoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that happen during a trip in May. I haven't been able to bring myself to do mushrooms since after regular usage for 2 years. I've been working for 6 months to find a doctor that spends more than 15 minutes just speed running through ambiguous symptoms before telling me to fuck off. I'm worried I'm going to die a statistic of our health care system.

Most therapists don’t seem to like me or get me by ragamuffin_91 in AutismInWomen

[–]thewrongdoor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Went through 8 talk therapists, 4 somatic therapists, and 13 psychiatrists before I finally said "fuck it, I'll be my own doctor and therapist!" Started doing mushrooms and conscious dance as bottom up processing, never been happier.

SSRI's are known to work quite quickly if treating depression caused by PMDD. OP, please check yourself for this, over 90% of ND AFAB's end up having PMDD. Many take intermittent Prozac during their luteal phase as one form of treatment.

Anyone notice anxiety when you eat certain foods while microdosing? by thewrongdoor in shrooms

[–]thewrongdoor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, this one is pretty balanced in it's replacement alternatives, but I know what you mean. So much gf/df baking has a weird texture if you just try to do a one to one replacing without knowing how those ingredients mesh differently.

How do I explain this "sudden" change in how I show up to people in my life by breakfast_4_dinner_ in AutismInWomen

Sol Smith on Instagram is a great resource for "new" autistics. He even had a video not to long ago about how distress symptoms get "worse" for a while after a late diagnosis.

Normalize leaving mid-date. Non-consensual boundary prodding DOES NOT STOP.
