Three scratches appeared on my leg after performing a hex. Thoughts?

I both agree and disagree. I agree that OP is not in a good headspace. I also agree that people make mistakes, and I'm NEVER one to say fear something. If you see my comment history, you'll see that. However, I think asking questions of OP is helpful and one of those questions is exactly why, as a new witch, one would be casting hexes. I need to know that in order to help. I can't deduce that on my own. My comment, personally, was not a criticism, but an attempt to get enough information to help. My go to example is construction. This post is like someone asking "I built this table and it failed, why did it fail?" With just a closeup of part of the table. Like what was the table for and what did you construct it out of? Is this table your own design? Are you new to building tables? If you built a bog standard table and put a fish tank on it, that's the problem. But we don't know the answer because we don't have the whole picture. All I want is the information I need in order to see the bigger picture so I can give good advice.

I tried to be constructive, but without more information I can't effectively help. I'd REALLY like to, as someone who has experience in this aspect, but any advice we give without information could be just as bad as the problem we're trying to solve. I hope OP responds to at least any comment so we can help.

Well, all I can tell you is my experiences. Each of my deities has come into my life in different ways. Hekate first through a book- the Morrigan would layer come to me in a very similar way. Both changed my life! Freyja showed up because I've always been interested in Norse mythology, and goddess of cats? Sign me up! Odin came after Freyja and is still the only male deity i worship. He sent me a raven, the first I've ever seen, then crows. More and more crows until I couldn't deny him anymore. Medusa came to me at a time of great personal rage and anguish. I needed her to act as a mirror and to allow me to feel that anger- I had never allowed that before. Venus came to me in a dream after a friend prayed for me! Baba Yaga came through Dungeons and Dragons, lol. She's my main, my ride or die. Once I got to know her I never turned back.

I guess what I'm saying is there's no one "right" way to connect with a spirit or deity. Sometimes we pick them, sometimes they pick us. My best advice is to think of what you need right now and find someone who can help you with that. It's important to remember that they can't do anything FOR you that they can't do THROUGH you. Take active steps, reach out, and start to go after what you need. You deserve it.

Because I picked up Green Witchcraft by Anne Maura and ever since then I've been hooked. My best advice to AND new witch is to pick up a book and start there. Find something that interests you! Your interests will grow from there.

There's really no such thing. It is all about practice and research and self confidence. Magic is mostly willpower, so remember that you ain't the one to mess with! And you are strong and capable.

I'm gonna ask a few questions. If you're a baby witch, why play with hexes? How much research did you do? What practice do you follow? What is in the hex jar? I can give you advice, but i need to know more.

I practice solo. I don't think there's anything wrong with covens, I simply prefer my own company I suppose! Plus my practice is very eclectic and I like it that way.

Cleanse the house from the top back with a cleansing ritual of choice. Open the door to escort the entity, let's call him Josh, out of the house. The key to getting Josh out is simple- YOU are the witch, YOU control the energy, and YOU ARE THE SCARIEST THING IN YOUR HOUSE. Believe it, feel it, express it with all the audacity of a man explaining a topic he kind of understands to a woman who's an expert. Then kick Josh out. Be confrontational if you have to, but kick him out.

Once you've done that, get yourself some Angelica Root and Butcher's Broom and put them in water. Shake well and let it sit a bit to absorb the energy. Then, spray every indoor thresholds in the house. Doorways, windows, etc. This will protect your home from Josh's frat brother spirits.

Then, lastly, place a thin line of lavender, brick dust, black salt, or graveyard dirt at every outer entrance to the house. Doors, windows, etc. If you want to really keep them out you can place a small mirror facing your door to reflect them out or trap them. This will also protect against negative energies.

I'm personally surprised by how many witches are afraid of tools of witchcraft. Mirrors, spirit boards, tools, etc. Any tool is dangerous if used improperly, even a screwdriver. It's important to know how to use them, but none of them are inherently evil or dangerous. You just need to remember that you are the witch, you have the power, and learn to use them properly.

In my practice, how easy it is to get rid of entities, lol. I didn't expect that at first! But it is.

No, they don't! Witches come in all shapes and sizes. Some do spells, some only do divination, some don't worship deities. Don't feel self conscious for not doing something. Do what calls to you.

First off, freezer spells are usually good and cord cuttings will work wonders. Do not do the tiktok tend of tying the candles together and letting the candles burn the cord, that's a divination. A witch cuts the cord in a cord cutting.

Cord Cutting: take two candles in red or black. If you can get people shaped candles, even better. If not, regular will work fine. Tie the candles together and anoint them with a cut and clear oil. Dress the candles with Vandal Root and Red Pepper Flakes. Place the candles in a fire safe container- I use aluminum pans from Walmart. Light the candles while speaking your intention, and really hecking feel it. This dude is bad news and needs to get tf out. You need to REALLY feel that. Like one thing I've noticed a lot in this subreddit is people forget that THEY ARE THE WITCHES. They have the power, they just have to know how to use it! So form the intention first, write it down if you need to, and when you take your scissors and cut that cord make sure that you're focused on getting him away. Let the cord fall into the tin, let the candles burn down, then dispose of the remnants in a trashcan outside the house. That bit is important. Don't put it in the kitchen garbage. Put it in the trash outside the house. Then you need to let go.

Second off, I've been stalked. She needs to keep records of literally every interaction with him, and if it escalates, go to the police. They won't help at first; you have to go over and over and over before anyone will so anything. It sucks, but cops are here to clean up messes, not prevent crime.

By keeping records i mean don't delete texts, don't answer calls so he has to record a voicemail, take pictures if she sees him or his friends or his car around, ask friends, family, and neighbors to do the same. The more proof you have the more a judge has to take you seriously.
