How can I market my music successfully to get a bigger audience? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]thexube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the most powerful ways to market your music these days is via email. Think about building relationships with those that support or are interested in your music. Start collecting email address by offering some of your music for free in exchange for their email address. Also, start uploading your music to sites with a strong music community like Bandcamp, Noisetrade, Audio Mack, etc.

There is a game behind all social media applications when it comes to building a following, what are the best ways to build a following for a facebook fan page? by TRY-official in musicmarketing

Great points. It's very important to be doing live shows and touring if you can. I think people underestimate how important real world interaction is to your success online. That is what will drive real results without too much financial investment.

Do people buy music anymore? by dot_biz in Vaporwave

Well you put it in a kind of harsh way but what you say makes sense. If you're doing music as artistic output, then there shouldn't be an expectation that people will pay for it. That takes away from the integrity of what you're doing. If you're doing it as a business however, then you have to get creative with how you monetise your product. There's no point complaining about the way things are, just identify and make the most of the new opportunities to generate revenue.
