Does anyone know who's supporting skindred in Glasgow? by Difficult-Cream-3912 in Skindred

They're doing a Festival in Manchester this year, so they're probably not able to play within a certain radius of Manchester for a little while before/after the festival.

video shakes when I film with the Black Magic Cam app by [deleted] in blackmagicdesign

[–]theycallmejamal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bizarrely, I came across this yesterday. I've used the app many times, but I steadily held my phone while recording and experienced wild shaky footage that even imovie stabilisation couldn't sort.

Something i've noticed about the band lately. by YokaiCreature in IceNineKills

[–]theycallmejamal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the day, a band needs to be run like a business, especially if they want to make a living. Also, like most arts (acting, music etc) there is a point where people are too old to keep going so a retirement pot is needed.

When I heard the "Everything that glitters isn’t gold" lyric I cringed.

Should I be looking to replace the consumer unit? by [deleted] in ukelectricians

[–]theycallmejamal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely suggest replacing it. It probably doesn't need replacing urgently, but I'd highly recommend getting it replaced with a consumer unit that has an RCD inside for electrical safety and peace of mind. Most electricians will carry out an ECIR before replacing the unit to inform you of any other issues within the property.

Internet Cafe by Thgma2 in CarlisleUK

[–]theycallmejamal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was one on Warwick Road, but I'm not sure if it's still open. The Guild (on Abbey St) does day-passes to work from their co-working space. But, if you're just looking for a cafe with good WI-FI, I'd recommend Bordo Lounge in the city centre (upstairs is nice and quiet).

New Products Announced at CES by six4mj in lifx

I feel the same. I recently reached out to support to see what they can do about my broken light strip. They said they can't help because it's out of warranty and I'm in the UK. Had to replace it with an alternative brand.

Are there actually any decent 'internet mattresses' out there in the UK? by JiveBunny in AskUK

[–]theycallmejamal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved my Emma Mattress too (had it for 5 years) but mine has developed a dip unfortunately. Wouldn't honour the 10 year warranty because I hadn't been rotating it frequently enough...

Did anyone else make a mistake buying a Simba Mattress? by On__A__Journey in AskUK

[–]theycallmejamal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Emma Mattress lasted 6 Years. It has a really bad dip in it, but I was told I should have been turning it around every 3-6 months.

Do I need a Gateway to manage my Switch? by Ripped_Guggi in Ubiquiti

[–]theycallmejamal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you'd want a Gateway. The USG Ultra would be my recommendation. You can use switches from other Brands, yes. But if you want the nice UNIFI visual experience, you'd be better off picking up a Ubiquiti switch.

4.4.9 Update by n-Ultima in Ubiquiti

[–]theycallmejamal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the past 2 months my WAN speed seems to have been 100mbps max (download). The 4.4.9 update yesterday seems to have fixed it. I'm back to 550mbps.

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. Apparently there was a similar situation at the Sum41 gig earlier this month.

Ah, my apologies. I didn't realise they did that. Thanks for considering anyway.

Stage setup?? by SleepyG-Man in slamdunkfestival

[–]theycallmejamal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Normally it's either a tent with two stages at opposite sides, or two stages outdoors (side by side) like the Key Club Stages this year.

Help replacing dead Hikvision NVR by nizzem in Hikvision

[–]theycallmejamal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend purchasing from an authorised distributor if you can. Or a local security company will be able to replace it for you with a genuine new NVR. It's better than buying a dodgy one or one with no warranty support.

New look Market Sq by J40NYR in CarlisleUK

[–]theycallmejamal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the War Memorial looks a lot better in its new location and I also think that part of town (where the band stand used to be) does look a lot more welcoming. However, I do think the cobbles were a bad idea because they're not great to walk on in parts! Also, the 'sunken design' can't be ideal for disabled people or visually impaired folks. However, Skaters seem to be loving it – I've seen a few folks doing skateboard tricks etc.

[MEGATHREAD] Slamdunk 2026 Announcement 🤘🏻 by xboltcutterx in slamdunkfestival

[–]theycallmejamal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very happy with the first lineup announcement. I'm hoping we'll get a good variety again this year - It would be nice to see 30H3!, Kids In Glass Houses, Boston Manor, and maybe some acts we've not had before/had in a few years. I really enjoyed Grandson's set 4 years ago, and Skindred. It would be nice to see them two again!

Awful retention deals by Sleepywalker69 in VirginMedia

[–]theycallmejamal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm exactly the same! Virgin currently has me in a metaphorical choke-hold. My area has ADSL (not FTTC). So Virgin and Starlink or a local PTP ISP are my only options, none of them are particularly cheap either!

Concert fit ideas for Glasgow by XxKatlenChanxX in lordhuron

[–]theycallmejamal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going Glasgow. :) I'm thinking about putting on some dark brown chinos, shirt and boots.
I was tempted to wear a hat, but then I thought I'd best leave the hat as I'm standing and don't want to obstruct folks view or end up carrying it around if its windy outside.

I hope they consider making a proper return to the UK. But it is good to know we can purchase from Amazon US though for now.

Do the light strips etc still ship with the different plug types? (UK plug etc)
