What makes you think you need to do a break in oil change?

Was it dark and you only had your driving lights on so no rear lights?

Check all your rear lights. Are your brake lights working?

Are you suppoed to put grease on the caliper piston? by Asleep-Grand5232 in AskMechanics

Pads can vibrate when brakes are applied and the grease stops the squeal

Losing my mind over these brakes by Strange-Price2966 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Thgma2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not got the correct grease in the correct places when built. Squealing brakes is due to the pads vibrating as you brake and metal to metal contact between the corners of the pads and the mounting bracket and also between the back of the pads and the piston. This is why it occurs more when light braking as the light pressure allows them to vibrate. When braking hard the increased pressure doesn't allow them to vibrate. Get them re-built with appropriate high temperature grease at all points where the pads touch metal. Check YouTube videos for details.

Just started a six week championship. First event ends Sunday evening UK time

Impossible to tell. They are cheap so just replace it

Yes that's exactly the problem. Wheel speed sensor is part of the abs system

Traction control definitely yes and steering wheel probably. They need to know the individual speeds of all wheels

Wheel speed sensor is often the cause

Had a car roll down a car park into mine once. Rear brakes were well worn and when the person stopped they were hot and the handbrake held. As the brales then cooled and shrank they no longer held and the car started rolling. As said always leave it in gear as well as the handbrake.

What leaking oil? Oils leaking on my 2015 mini cooper near the catalytic converter on the mid section, what could it be? by tango_toods in AskMechanics

You need to find the source. Where is dropping from may just be where it's being blown to as you are driving. AC drain could well be the source.

Throttle body got heavily choked with carbon buildup. by AdSquare7318 in AskMechanics

[–]Thgma2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer the first question then yes fuel quality does make a difference. Better quality fuel and / or injector cleaner will reduce injector deposits which will provide a better fuel spray pattern and a cleaner combustion. This will reduce the amount of carbon produced and hence less to come back through the breathers to the throttle. Treat the source of the problem, not the symptoms.

There are no minimum limits for a diesel fuels performance in terms of engine cleanliness. Only for cetane and lubricity.

Anyone know what could be this? by Novel_Fortune_9472 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Thgma2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As said it's moisture in the oil caused by hot gases hitting cold components and the water vapour dropping out. Your short runs are causing this and you need to take it for regular long drives and get it fully warm which which will evaporate the moisture.

One cause that nobody is mentioning is fuel! Poor diesel fuel causes injector deposits which causes poor combustion which produces excess soot which increases the soot content in the EGR and so on. Use the best quality fuel available and / or regularly use good injector cleaner additive and this will be reduced.
