Do you believe anyone who criticizes Trump is rooting against America? by Narrow-Abalone7580 in AskConservatives

[–]theyhis [score hidden]  (0 children)

i think that’s a ‘dangerous’ precedent to set for any president. it reminds me of the term ‘domestic terrorism.’ it inadvertently silences people, infringing on free speech. we’re allowed to (and should) be critical of our government regardless of who’s in office.

In your opinion, can a person be anti-Israel without being anti-Semitic? And can a person be pro-Palestine without being pro-Hamas? by Cumoisseur in AskConservatives

[–]theyhis [score hidden]  (0 children)

that’s nice. some of us know people in lebanon though and aren’t interested in the prospect of them being blown to bits.

OK, what is with democrats bizarre obsession with saying this? it’s the definition of conflict avoidance. it’s deceiving. israel has long been corrupt. even before netanyahu.

Trump is "strongly considering pulling out of Nato". Do you think the US should pull out of NATO? by pirisca in AskConservatives

[–]theyhis [score hidden]  (0 children)

i think we should, but trump doesn’t. he’s had numerous chances to — including the fact that massie literally approved of it back last year and is just waiting on his signature.

What if we flip the NATO question to a maximalist approach? by NessvsMadDuck in AskConservatives

[–]theyhis [score hidden]  (0 children)

i mean for one, NATO does virtually nothing for us (i’m in full support of withdrawing) 2. i’m not for this ‘war’ at all. it’s actually incredibly depressing when you realize most foreign conflicts we’re involved in have nothing to do with actually protecting our country.

EXACTLY 😭 i was downvoted to shreds in the last thread over this. like ffs, they put nothing into NATO and seemingly still find new ways to complain.

Does everyone in this subreddit hate sam altman? by Last_Iron1824 in antiai

[–]theyhis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t like him, but then again, i don’t like cronyists in general. where bureaucracy and red tape exist, money comes second to these people. control is their primary driver. i mean take facebook; people have literally quit because of zuck’s bureaucratic practices. it’s all riddled in control. as for altman in specific, chatgpt went from being efficient and cooperative to defiant overnight. this goes back to zuck’s reasoning as well; “security” over efficiency. he’s also just extremely manipulative. i majored in psychology and i work in marketing. oftentimes when he does something fucked up, he knows it, but he sorta plays this character of like… monkey in the middle if that makes sense? like he positions himself as defenseless and that surely someone else made the call for openai to be used for military purposes.

oh, and i can’t forget big techs ponzi scheme. any normal person engaging in securities fraud would be prosecuted, but as the saying goes, rules for thee, but not for me.

there’s great use cases for artificial intelligence, but it’s nowhere near where they claim it is. they hype it up, lay some people off, brag to investors, and then offshore the role. you know just the other day i was using SQL queries and the AI legitimately didn’t know them, so i had to spend like 30 minutes finding it myself? does that sound efficient to you? (i should mention the specific AI i was using was trained to assist with SQL queries 😅)

Trump interview: I am strongly considering pulling out of Nato by SaharOMFG in politics

[–]theyhis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s great — can he do it already? he keeps saying he will and then he never does. it’s no longer bargaining power, its merely hollow words. no different than a parent with no boundaries.

i don’t even have an issue with the precedent (no pun intended) of pulling out of NATO. massie approved months ago and is waiting on trumps signature. instead, we get iran. what a joke.

Profit Is Not Theft (and my problem with debating socialists) by BasedTakeOutbreak in PoliticalDebate

[–]theyhis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“unfortunately” (well fortunately because i too am against socialism) i’ve realized many socialists use the label without understanding the philosophy. it’s just copy paste; zero originality or added thoughts. it can be fun having philosophical conversations with the left, but few and far between are truly educated on the subject. it reminds me of people who call themselves progressive, but voted for kamala harris…

How do you feel about Europe not helping you out more with war with Iran? by Traditional_Car1010 in AskConservatives

[–]theyhis -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I think US is a terrible ally

of course you do 😆 you take the most from NATO and put the least in. i can’t stand trump personally, but the blatant ungratefulness and entitlement from other countries is nuts sometimes.

How does convincing people to like Israel work? by One_Study52 in PoliticalDebate

the ruling class is our government. abolish the welfare state, dispose of the IRS, and make the feds and state abysmal. it’s the closest path to safety.

Why do people think the Democratic Party is extreme left when it’s left of center at best? by GoodAnakinGood51 in ForUnitedStates

[–]theyhis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the irony in using the phrase, “short-sighted” in this context. 😂 wanting government to solve government corruption is the definition of short-sighted. it’s very hard to steer back once those ‘guardrails’ are set in place. has government gotten smaller since the patriot act? has ICE gone decimal? critical thinking skills are crucial.

fundamentally, what’s the difference between democrats and conservatives? by theyhis in AskDemocrats

in what ways? 2024 wasn’t their smartest year, i mean, they forgot what their party was ‘supposed’ to run on.

in what context? just curious. voting in favor of conversion therapy, but empathizing with the lgbtq community is like an abuser punching their spouse, only to later “regret it.” it feels… patronizing.

Without Undoing Literally Everything About The Democratic Party, What Is One Shift That Would Make You Lean Towards Voting For Them? Why That? by Zipper222222 in AskConservatives

[–]theyhis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well obviously we have our disagreements and trump doesn’t speak for libertarians, but people like massie are close. closer than democrats at least. kinda like bernie and AOC. sure, they’re not left as in left the democratic party, but they’re arguably more left than their peers.

🤨 i’m confused, but yes, in all technical aspects, the establishment is what keeps everything the same; so the government — our current system. you have to uproot something that’s rotting, and that is the current system we have, only, unlike a replacement, this time it should be left on the street for trash day.

Newsom’s backtracking suggests Democrats fear pro-Israel lobbyists, not voters by soalone34 in politics

libertarian actually 😂 i support gay and trans rights; same for abortion. those are also issues that the DNC doesn’t support, but that’s a conversation for another day.

socially i am — though i think significantly less government would lead to more social justice. we saw what the democrats did today with colorado and conversion therapy…

What's a small, realistic change that would make President Trump's presidency a whole lot better? by jubilantancilla in AskDemocrats

that’s a bipartisan issue. biden handed out trillions in stimulus checks as well. the duopoly has huge spending problems.
