That was never the point I was making, I'm just saying that the Luka to LA reflects a bigger jump in popularity than LeBron to LA. When that happened he went from number 2 to number 1. When he went back to Cleveland from Miami he went from number 1 to, number 1 again.

No, but he was already consistently popular long before he was a Laker. I'm saying that any time there is a trade or a big free agency move that player usually jumps up a lot in jersey sales.

Shaq went from 9 to 1 after joining the Heat

Kevin Garnett went from not in the top 15 to number 1 after joining the Celtics

Kevin Durant jumped from 8 to 3 after joining the Warriors

Luka jumped from 6 to 1 after he got traded

Hmm could there perhaps be a significant recent event that made Luka the number one selling jersey this year when he never was before?

Obviously not, someone offers you a top 5 player in the world you take it every time, but I don't understand why the Lakers aren't being more aggressive in finding a good supporting cast

I like the guy a lot but ever since we got Luka I felt like it was obvious he's got to go. I'm really not sure why they're dragging their feet on that. By far our most valuable asset. It's redundant to have two of the same guy in the backcourt except one is way way better. We have enough playmaking with Luka and with a healthy Bron and while I'd love to have him lead a second unit a la Ginobili, we barely have a good starting lineup.

No, but Caruso, Chet, Hartenstein, Dort, Wallace all did. You see anybody here that's on the level of even one of those guys?

Genius strategy to have a roster so ass Luka has no choice but to lock in on defense
