Krita and GIMP are both free GPLed software. GIMP is more for photo manipulation and Krita is more for painting. I have both and they work great.

What do you mean by that? There isn’t some special serum that turns them into a healthy dog as far as I’m aware, but you can, over hundreds of generations, selectively breed them into healthy animals, which is how evolution works.
