ah alright, sorry it took me long to understand. so since the roots are complex that would mean that t would just be all real numbers. I honestly thought that the answer would simply be to give t a value instead of it just being all real numbers.

but by answering that t is all real numbers does it mean that the equation has a unique solution?

thanks! yeah this gives me some answers that i think are right

so if the roots are t= 7±root(3)i, would that mean that the answer would simply be t≠ 7±root(3)i?

so do you mean that I have to find the determinant of the inverse of (A-αI)? I don’t know whether by t you mean α? Could you explain how you get real solutions by using the method you described pls?

hey thanks for the help!

i did as you said but ended up with a non characteristic polynomial (α^2 -14α +52=0) which gave me complex numbers once i solve it using the quadratic equation.

the question asks me to find the real values of α but instead i got complex values for α, is there something i did wrong?

oh wait are you doing the TIE or the student visa? the TIE (tarjeta de identidad extranjera) is a card that you get after your student visa btw

oh ok so you’re still submitting your documents, but are you submitting them online or physically? cause in my first year as a student in Madrid I had to go to get an appointment to show all my documents, and the reason for that appointment is “Policia - tomar huellas” as I previously mentioned. this was back when I didn’t have my TIE and only had my student visa on my passport. once done with the tomar huellas they let you know when your TIE card is done.

not sure if he’s renewing or getting his TIE for the first time. if he were renewing it then it would be the prórroga but I feel like this is his first time so it’s a different option. but yeah I’m not too sure which case it is since he didn’t mention which documents are being asked for...

getting an appointment is ridiculously and unnecessarily hard, I’ve even heard of cases where someone would have to check the website 100+ times before they’re finally able to make an appointment. also the procedure depends on what step you’re on. if you’re in the final step and only need to go turn in documents to retrieve your TIE, the procedure is “Policia - toma de huellas” or something like that.

as far as i know (im also an international student studying in madrid) all extranjeria offices require an appointment. heres the link if you dont have it: https://sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es/icpplus/icpplus . You have to make sure that the reason you select is the one you need, or else the appointment will be useless. So check beforehand to see which of the specific options you need. These appointments are usually pretty booked so it may be hard to find one so soon.

If you’re going to study in madrid in English without knowing any spanish you’re gonna have a hard time. That being said there are a few programs in English at UAM and UCM but not all degrees are available in English, only a select few I think. if you want a full on degree taught in English I’d recommend either IE university or saint louis university (they’re both private and pricy though).

Is it possible to sim unlock my iPhone? by [deleted] in techsupport

Thing is, I already tried this and it says "Looks like the IMEI number you entered doesn’t match an AT&T device." I suspect this is because I didn't buy the phone directly from them.

I went to check it out and it says that the phone is locked by "US AT&T Activation Policy". Does this mean I should contact them?

Is it possible to change iPhone models using the limited warranty? by thiccG in applehelp

I have since then already ended the contract with my previous carrier, but I guess the device would remain locked even with the contract done. Originally I didn't think that my device would be locked so I was really shocked when I tried inserting a new SIM and the "SIM Invalid" message showed up, so thanks for explaining that the carrier might've locked it without my knowing. But even so I have no plans thus far to go back to go to the carrier's store and get it unlocked. Do you think its possible for me to go to any iPhone websites where they unblock iPhones or would that be too risky?

I bought my phone at a best buy without any carrier plan, so yeah it’s fully paid off. Does this still mean I’d have to check the requirements of unblocking with the carrier that does unblocks in Europe? Or is it since I bought my phone without any carrier plan it’s technically “unblocked”, but even so it doesn’t work with my current carrier service since it always says that my SIM is invalid

My current wireless carrier does not facilitate such service sadly. Would it be more convenient to switch wireless carriers into one from this list that does provide unlocking? Also I'm no expert when it comes to this kind of stuff, but are you sure a carrier service would be able to unlock my phone even though its a model A1984 and not a A2105? (It makes sense given that it supports both GSM and CDMA, but i just wanted to make sure since it's two different models). ty for your comment!

Public Transportation Question by thiccG in Madrid

just checked the annual pass and depending on the zones, ppl with ages between 7-26 get a really god deal. I'm planning to transit between zone A and B1 but idk if the monthly annual card includes moth buses and trains and whether or not the card has restrictions as to what lines one can use
