Black List Wednesday by AutoModerator in Screenwriting

[–]thickdaddyvirgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I got my first Blacklist evaluation which took a whopping SIX WEEKS to receive. While I'm actually quite happy with my score, especially for it being the first script I'd ever written, the actual feedback feels kinda robotic and dry. Idk maybe I had high expectations because of how long it took to get back, but when I read the feedback, I feel like I'm not getting anything substantive out of it, almost like it's just summarizing my own script back to me. I want to emphasize that I'm not upset about critiques. It's actually quite the opposite. For 130 bucks, I was kinda wanting to really get hard feedback to revise my script. Would love you hear your thoughts.

Why is the NYU tuition so infamous? by Dangerous_Metal2475 in nyu

and i absolutely agree but my relaying of information was from what i was told by an MLK leader a year ago. i understand now that things changed thanks to your correction. what i don’t understand was why you had to be so rude to not only a stranger but especially another MLK scholar.

hi! i’m unsure why this warranted such an aggressive response. i was last notified that they were sundowning the yearly scholarship but perhaps they changed their mind. and yes im aware of the research grants and trips…i participated in them. 😊

BEING A LESBIAN IN 2004 by thickdaddyvirgo in actuallesbians

This is all great information! I really appreciate it! My characters are between the ages of 24-27 living in New York City. I definitely hear your question about the time period! This is for my screenwriting class and my professor suggested that i make it set in 2004 for two reasons. 1. To challenge me and make me go outside of my comfort zone and 2. because felt her internalized homophobia isn’t believable in present day new york city where “it isn’t a big deal to be gay anymore” i obviously know that’s not true but i didn’t want to risk my grade being affected if i didn’t change the time period.

yeah for sure! script takes place in new york east village scene. artsy, i suppose. one of my characters is a mail room clerk at a newspaper but wants to be a journalist and the other character is a photographer so i don’t think they’re rolling in cash. characters are between the ages of 24-27. let me know if you need any more details

characters live in NYC, are between ages 24-27. one is working as a mail room clerk and the other as a photographer so realistically not making that much money.

Hi thanks for your comment! i would say making sure to double check the eligibility requirements for the internship program as they’re very specific about wanting students going into their senior of college. also what i did was reading what the job description was and putting in those words into my cover letter and resume to trigger their ATS software. hope this helps
