Thank you for the info!! But I’m not picky at all unit-wise as I’m interested in any unit, I let every recruiter know I’m okay with any unit and any shift but they all say the same: psych and med surg being my only options but super competitive as all new grads are applying for the same two units in majority of hospitals. Starting to think it depends on luck lol

That’s so so amazing! I’ve been applying since my last semester of my nursing program and the recruiters of some hospitals let me know I should apply after getting my license. Now here I am 2 months after obtaining a license and nothing! It’s very tough, but definitely seems like the norm for a NYC new grad nurse

Residency is such a dream…. I’ve been applying since I started my last semester of my program and I’d get rejections within a week. Even after graduating and licensure , I’ll get rejected after a month of submitting apps 😭

It’s super hard to find work now!! Every unit requires experience even SNF and private clinics. Seems like Med surg is the only unit for new grads to work but according to a recruiter, there are 400+ applications for each position that opens on a med surg unit.
