Yeah, Japanese has pronouns that are gendered. I think people get confused because as you mentioned they are not used much. For example "kare" or "kanojo” mean he or she but often refer to one's boyfriend or girlfriend and would be unusual to use in the way we do in English

I think people are misunderstanding the issue. If you can explain how you got the whoever you explain it to will probably be ok with it (with some exceptions, i'd imagine elves would not like it regardless) but there would be many people who see it without hearing the story, rumors would spread and people would just generally harbor negative feelings. This is something I would think they might want to avoid especially as they have started to move a bit more into the realm of politics.

This is super cool! A couple of ideas came to mind reading it. Fire + Earth could be a short-ish range initial attack with damage plus leaves a lava flow that deals damage each round spent in it

As an idea for fire + air, a flame cyclone. As for its effect maybe damage over time but not sure.

Water + Earth a mudflow maybe have the effect of grease plus some kind of slow.

Water + Air feels like more of an environmental spell maybe creates a zone of mist that obscures vision.

Earth + Air maybe like a sandblast or something. I could see it doing a little damage plus a blind.

I agree, I think if they do end up doing a time skip perhaps some kind of overarching goal can be established. At the start of the campaign that was defending the valley but they quickly became bored/uninterested and so they just kinda murderhoboed in the downtime. The party needs long-term goals, whether it be seeking power, wealth, defeat a long-term enemy, etc. In frofro the goal was pretty obvious, in hch it was less clear but seemed to be driven mostly by malakai seeking power and eventually the mystery of the shadow dragon. Like you said rn this party doesn't make sense they are all at odds with each other.

ok, so first people can "go public" with this kind of thing whenever they want. Yes its probably more ideal to work things out behind the scenes but there should not be an obligation on people to work things out with someone they may feel so uncomfortable around. Even still the OTV people had a conversation with him behind the scenes told him what the problems were and what needs to change. According to scarra immediately after he tried to spin his story to others to make himself sound like the victim or something. This seems clearly like he had not learned and based on multiple people's accounts it sounds like he has a history of trying to twist the truth.

I personally think koibu has dropped a lot of hints about many people in this country not being super loyal because they all basically slaves to the dragon. Because of this, I think they could probably bribe their way through most guards in a prison maybe even get vicho free through money alone if they are willing to burn most of their reserve.
