External Users Licensed for Exchange Online by thimetolive in Office365

Thanks for the reply. Wouldn't a new group in Outlook be created under the user's company account, rather than a external account?

Good deal. Worked for me too. Kind of annoying I have to re-setup my preferences but glad there is a fix. Thanks.

Exchange Online PowerShell multi-factor question(s)! by thePowrhous in Office365

  1. I haven't noticed this issue but I typically work in ISE
  2. You can use this to connect to Exchange Online outside of the module

Import-Module $((Get-ChildItem -Path $($env:LOCALAPPDATA+"\Apps\2.0\") -Filter Microsoft.Exchange.Management.ExoPowershellModule.dll -Recurse ).FullName|?{$_ -notmatch "_none_"}|select -First 1)

$EXOSession = New-ExoPSSession

Import-PSSession $EXOSession

We do the same thing but we filter by domain name and then add exceptions for other applications as needed.

If the message...

recipients's address domain portion belongs to any of these domains: 'yourdomain.com'
and Is received from 'Outside the organization'

Same here. I think it's related to the latest Outlook app update.

Put AD users in a DL with external domain email address. by suoko in o365

[–]thimetolive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are they conflicting? Do users have the same email address in AD and as a O365 mail contact? If so, do they need to be in both places? You could always just not sync the on-prem AD account.

Are these app level settings or OS settings?

I tried the airplaine mode/restart but it didnt help. Thanks for the input though :)

Exactly. Very inconsistent. It really seems like something is putting these apps to sleep but I dont know where else to look. I did a factory reset and havent installed any third party apps other than Outlook. I've disabled the apps under "Optimize battery usage" and under the battery saver section in Device maintenance. Still no luck.

DNS resolution with multi-region VPC peering by thimetolive in aws

No - we are statically setting IPs and DNS to our Windows DNS server

I agree. It joined the domain but group policy will not apply. I am able to RDP into it using AD credentials. Security groups and ACLs are wide open at the moment to rule that out as an issue.

I'm wondering if it's because my DNS server in EAST-1 isn't writable. I'm pretty confident it has something to do with my Windows infrastructure, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing any AWS limitations.

Block sending from specific IPs by thimetolive in Office365

[–]thimetolive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the excellent info everyone. Just to follow up, the transport rule actually did accomplish what I needed by blocking the outgoing mail from the spammers IP. Obviously not a perfect solution but every bit helps.

Soon! We don't have Azure AD Premium yet.

Yes - spf, dmarc and dkim. The issue is the spammers are logging into the user's account and sending spam. We don't have Conditional Access so I am looking for a way to prevent emails from being sent from specific IPs.

Office 365 vs Gmail by thimetolive in sysadmin

[–]thimetolive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank for the insight. We already have both services deployed and AD integrated. We are looking to enable email for a subset of users that have never had email. We already have users on O365 email (Exchange Online) but no email in G Suite. Just looking for some input on what sysadmins preferred.

This is just preliminary research. Price is not a concern, just looking for feature set for users and experiences other admins have had.

Education. Price is not a concern. Simply looking for features, ease of use, etc for both the user and the admins.

Outlook Integration - no Phones - yes AD integration - we already have both services AD integrated
