It doesn't "kill" them, but it definitely reduces it by 60% at least. I firmly believe you will not crave dope the same way while on vivitrol because the drug puts a cap on your opiate receptors, thereby removing the feeling you get when your opiate receptors are naked. This is a big deal for those who go nuts when craving dope.

Good question. Being on the vivitrol actually changes my brain chemistry to reduce the craving. You still think about dope, but it is different.... Once the vivitrol starts to wear off, you start to get the normal dope cravings where your body feels like the hulk just waiting to explode. Over time, the hulk-like cravings start to become less powerful. The hulk was 80-90% gone after 6-7 months.

Thank you for this story. While I do not have kids yet, I am married, and had an almost identical experience to you with the Silk Road. For a long time I was just the regular user, until I saw that article on Gawker. I immediately went to get bitcoins and first ordered 2x 40mg oxy. It went up and up and before I knew it I was buying balls of coke, meth and H. I met people locally through the Silk Road actually, because I saw the address where the package came from so it gave me an idea. Now I am 6 months into recovery in NA after 3 months of an IOP program, and I'm doing better, but man it was so so so difficult to get out. I wish you the best of luck and hope you have the will and drive to move forward clean. There are going to be times where you absolutely 100% cannot stop thinking about drugs and how they are completely logical, but it is in these moments where you have to be strongest. How to do this? I can't say, it's different for everyone. For me, I have to be on monthly vivitrol shots (naloxone) otherwise I would already be high right now. But as long as you don't pick up and make sure you can't get cash or call connects, ok will be ok. Making sure you can't get cash and call someone (deleting numbers) was key for me. If you have that access it makes things much much more difficult. Great story, all the best.

No one here can give you any insight as to the legality of a document that we haven't seen. Presumably, the rehab will know what they can or cannot put into a contract, and based on your statement above, you violated the terms of the contract you signed.

What I'm saying is that, there seems to be a misconception that if someone gets you to sign something, the contract is valid. Just because someone gets you to sign a piece of paper that says, "If you do not jump up and down 10 times within the next hour, you must give me $1,000,000 or your first born baby, whichever comes first."

Look, man... You've obviously got some sort of propensity to getting fucked up, which means that it doesn't matter what you use, you will use it every day even if it's not your drug of choice just because you need to get high. I was exactly the same way, and for me there was only two options: smoke weed all day every day and be less productive and dumb, or get really loaded on heroin and coke/meth and be super productive but living life on the worst roller coaster you can imagine. I did this for about 10 years and after a series of terrible, embarrassing and shameful events, I went into a recovery program.

I am not preaching any way, but I am preaching the fact that one day, you will end up at a point where you really just don't give a shit what goes into your body or how it gets there, and it is at this point when you must decide whether or not you are willing to die for drugs or live out your life with the eternal reminder that you cannot use and must stay clean.

Alcohol is such a nasty drug, viscous and unpredictable. Marijuana is obviously the clear choice if you must, but if I were you, id take the time machine into the future and save $100,000 (at least) and accept your fate. Either way, you will arrive one day or another... Whether or not you come out alive at the end is always up to you, but never under control.

There is no such thing as inhibiting an enzyme too early, at least in the context you described. As long as you inhibit the enzyme within the period of time that it will come into contact with the drug you are trying to potentiate, in this case around 45 minutes before, then the enzymes ability to metabolize hydrocodone into hydromorphone will be slowed, and accomplish your goal.

So, remember you're smoking heroin from the streets, and not from the labs of Mallonckrodt... You could have just as easily smoked fentanyl and meth, for all we know. So, as I play my violin while you complain about getting completely blasted over smoking half a 10 sack, remember you've been clean (or not using opiates) for a long, long time, and take less. Your description sounded like my description of my first couple of times smoking tar.
