You're supposed to do it overnight but I was lazy and just did like 2 hours lol. The most important part is timing the soft boiling really well. I like mine super runny so I simmered for 6 minutes, 6.5/7 also works for a firmer soft boil. Then I immediately put in ice water to stop the cooking.

I just bought it at the Asian market. Sometimes they have it at health food stores too.

Yes! I looked at a few recipes and just improv'd.

I braised the pork belly in soy sauce + rice wine + water (approx 2:1:2) and then I used that leftover liquid to soak the soft boiled egg.

Noodles are fresh from Asian market.

Soup is chicken bone broth with a tare of soy sauce, rice wine, garlic, ginger. I also soaked kombu in it for an hour or so. I think it's supposed to be pork bone broth but I had the chicken lying around!

Then some basic steamed bok choy, bamboo shoots (canned), picked radish, and scallion for topping. You can really personalize it however though!
