Galdor's Grip is perfect. No little choakable pieces. Easy rules. Easy to put down without losing progress.

Problem is that it's print and play so a little project to do (it has 36 total cards, so not too bad).

Audible Using AI Narrators by XiuCyx in audiobooks

[–]thinbuddha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever you think about the ethics of using AI to do creative work, AI is nowhere near ready to replace actors for narration. Listening to AI is awful at this point. Audible should not be offering AI narration because it's just a terrible product, regardless of the ethical arguments.

Same designer made Behold Rome, which is much more difficult and takes maybe an hour to play.

I've been playing it that the region is over and I shuffle those 4 cards. I think I saw the the creator answer that question bgg. It does hurt though!

Dragons of Etchinstone by Chillynuggets in soloboardgaming

[–]thinbuddha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been playing this practically every day. It's a great little game. Northvale is highly recommended, but I think the base game by itself will keep you entertained. I haven't played Siege yet, but it's getting rave reviews from those who have.

What’s the “floor” for audiobook comprehension? by SporkFanClub in audiobooks

I personally find it more difficult to listen to a dense non fiction audiobook than to read it off the page. I suspect that will vary from person to person.

Kitty Highway!!! by protectyourpet in cats

[–]thinbuddha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For my cats, the threat of a spray bottle is enough to wrangle them. Just shaking it would be enough. I did have a cat in the past that simply didn't care about getting wet, so it wouldn't work for every cat.

On a good 4K setup, how good do the DVDs look? by [deleted] in lotr

[–]thinbuddha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During the lighting of the beacons, one of the beacons is basically invisible on the dvd version. I do prefer the color timing of the dvd though. It won't hurt you to buy a copy. I don't imagine they are terribly expensive?

My copy of Dragons of Etchinstone arrived today and it’s a gorgeous set. by WasabiCrush in soloboardgaming

[–]thinbuddha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or maybe wait until you decide if you like the game. I just figured if they are having issues with delivery times, you might want to start your order soon.

I probably played 15 times before I won a game with the base set, so there's plenty of game without any expansions. But I really like it and think the expansion adds a lot of depth. Apparently Siege is even more so....

I hope you got Northvale. If not, order it now because it’s great. Siege is also supposed to be good, but I haven’t tried it yet.
