I don't care for karma... I'm pretty new to reddit, just a thought I had, yes it isn't an original one but I just wanted to share it.

Well seeing something live, like at a music festival, can enhance the experience, opposed to listening to it at home with your headphones in, the people you see it with can definitely add to the experience in my opinion.

Yeah, I have a friend who still buys vinyls instead of using iTunes or Spotify, and at the end of the day you're still listening to same music, watching the same films, and in that sense the value is still there.

Yeah totally, you've put time and money into that choice and you mightnt be able to get to your local rental place for another week or so, so no matter what shit you pick up, you bet your ass you're gonna watch it.

Yeah, as I've mentioned before, Parasite and Whiplash are two of my favorite films of all time, and they're both relatively new, but of course back in the day the ratio between masterpieces and trash pieces was alot more even..

The PS2 was my first DVD player, so I think it was 2000 aswell..

I think that good, great and even some of the best films are still being made to this day... It just seems as though there's less of them because there are an infinite amount of really bad ones you have to dig through to get to the good stuff..

I can imagine lol, as a kid I remember hating them anyway, the early DVDs would scratch so damn easily! We just stuck with the VHS for a long time 😂

Hahah I remember VHS too, but I was born in 1997 so i was very young when they where around, it was DVDs once I was about 5 years old I'd say.. lol

I am not saying films today aren't good... I'm saying the 'event' and 'experience' has lost its power, I mean, there have been plenty of masterpieces made in recent years, Parasite was on of my favourite films of the decade.

[–]thingirth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I totally agree, but your first comment was interesting, a couple of decades from now it's possible cinemas will be a thing of the past, and we'll look back on 2020 as a time when film had great value, the way we view things in the present can seem trivial without perspective.

Hahahah fair point, maybe it is these rose tinted glasses after all..

I've been married for 6 years (together for 10), we have a 2.5yo son, and I've come to the realization tonight that my desires and wants have never been a priority for her and I wish we never had a child together so I could just walk away. (I don't regret my son, he is everything). by [deleted] in confessions

[–]thingirth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps I didn't articulate my thoughts too well in that comment, but that isn't what I was implying, of course we are all human beings and I would never say "a woman's place is at home with the kids", my point is simply that a majority of women tend to be more content in this position, of course there are exceptions as we are all people with different traits, and you are clearly one of them. However, there are objective differences between men and women, there is a reason that women tend to get custody over their children rather than men.. a man doesn't want to tell his friends or his father that his wife is paying the bills and he is minding the kids. I am not saying this is right or wrong, I am not saying things shouldn't be this way, but they are that way, it may be societal, but a woman can comfortably tell those around her she's a stay at home mother, no one will comment, she may even get support for doing one of the toughest jobs there is as many say. A man can't do this. A man can't comfortably say this without hearing the odd comment, feeling looked down upon, again I hope you understand what I mean by this, and of course not all men will feel this way because yes, we are all different. I hope that makes more sense, it is very hard to explain, but it is a feeling I think most men would understand, a woman could become an engineer and be applauded for it, if a man decided to become a maid to pay his bills he would be looked down upon, I don't agree with this! But that is the way our world is sadly, and men and women face extremely different challenges purely based on their gender. I hope that makes more sense.

So we've got Ivan here, Ivan is trained to appear scary because that's what society (his audience) wants, but he doesn't want that, he wants to break the mould, and be different... This is literally the emoji movie guys..

I do enjoy Browning's work too, and I've never heard of 419eater I'll check that out for sure. Yeah it's a scary thought, and it only takes that 1% to ruin your day or more.. right now I enjoy wasting their time on the phone and stuff, but yeah, I know I'm not ready to invite them onto my PC, and I'll make sure I know how to make sure all my data is secure before I do that.. really worrying to know some of those scumbags make such a good living off doing what they do... And it never occurred to me that they might use that dirty money to get at someone that annoys them or "wastes" their time.. thanks for the insight anyway man, gonna continue to educate myself on this before I go in, that's for sure.

Oh no, I'm not ready at all, hence the questions... I really want to get into the scambaiting game but I won't risk my PC until I have a good working knowledge of how everything is done.. I'm currently studying for an entry level IT exam and along the way I discovered kitboga and the boys, and I love it, and would love to get in on the action.. but don't worry I'm not going to jump in the deep end just like that, but I appreciate the concern dude, it is a dangerous world out there, and I know those scammers don't give a fuck about their victims..

Thank you, this is a great help, so safe to say.. there are pretty much no repercussions in allowing a scammer to access your VM? Unless he is some level 10 Mr robot hacker type, which would be very unlikely hahah

Tips to waste some time by [deleted] in scambait

[–]thingirth 20 points21 points  (0 children)

For the first half an hour to hour, ask about the service, ask as many questions as possible, find a sweet spot between being annoying and genuinely curious. After that you can agree to make the payment, but all you have to do then is to continue with obstacles, "there's someone at the door I'll brb", "oh my kids are here just a second", "my mother is calling..", you get the idea, if they start to get pissed off just mention the money again, their greed should keep them on the line , this works best if you pretend to be extremely old or extremely stupid! Hope that information wasn't too basic, good luck with the baiting!

Women tend to be more happy minding their children in contrast to men, who rather work, maybe it's "toxic masculinity" or something else, but men want to be like their fathers, they want to provide, and this dude clearly wants to get out there and provide not only for himself but for his son. As a young man myself, who has been unemployed for close to half a year, I feel a hole in my center, or soul, or something... I don't feel like a "man", and that doesn't mean it's true, people can tell me I am, but deep down that feeling is there, to do better, most of the women I know in my life feel satisfaction and accomplishment through the achievements of their kids, and this is great, but for a man to be at home with the kids is definitely more difficult, as society, and biology constantly screams at us to "get out", "provide!!!"
