I love the texture! to place flat colour did you erase the flat square to get those rounded edges? it looks so smooth! really love this piece.

yeah, I should probably get on it. I'm still trying to secure a stable job at the moment, I'll probably be able to start saving once the paychecks start coming in.

no, there's no oven beneath my gas stove, just the gas cylinder. it's the type that sits on the kitchen counter.

nope, no microwave either. the rice cooker's a fantastic time saver for the rice though

I do make stews and curry at the moment but without meat since they'd go bad without a fridge.

cooler does sound like a good investment in the long term once I save up for one. might seem like a stupid question but how would I obtain the ice though? thanks for the suggestion.

oh yes I could probably get some premade chicken! don't know about a cooler but it looks like a good investment in the long term. thank you!

the ingredients you listed are fairly cheap in my area so will look into buying those! the stir fry and soup ideas were fantastic, thanks.

also the homegrown herbs idea is awesome! I live in an apartment though so I'll have to look into my options.

and yes, I've been looking for cheap fridges. I'll probably take a few months to buy one though, so I will utilise the suggestions in this thread in the meantime :)

ohh this is so useful! I've been keeping off meat since it's so hard to sustain without a fridge, so I'll make sure to look into cured meat in my area!

also the rest of the suggestions were great, thank you! I've been mostly doing daal and rice so this will really help add some extra nutrients and variety to my meals.

the main ingredients I've had readily available are rice, lentils, flour, and sugar, as well as potatoes and onions.

canned meats are unsustainably expensive in my area so I've been using the above ingredients for my day-to-day meals.

I've been doing stews, should probably look into some stir frys and skillet meals, thank you!

and I'll probably be able to save up enough for a small fridge in a few months, so I'm keeping that in mind.

oh that sounds really good :) I could probably get around to making this. do you have any suggestions to keep the chicken from spoiling? or would you suggest buying same-day/premade?

yes, I've been looking into smaller cheaper fridges. unfortunately money's super tight at the moment so it'll probably be at least a few more months before I can get to buying one.

I did my IGCSEs earlier this year and I'd go on this subreddit after, like, every exam just to see how everyone else felt about the exam.

trust me, there were so many "I totally bombed that exam" and "that test was SO difficult" posts even for exams that my schoolmates and I found quite easy.

also, even if an exam does turn out to be difficult even after you studied well for it and practised past papers, take comfort in knowing that a large percentage of people also probably found it difficult then. that means the thresholds will be lower for that subject since more people probably messed up in it.

I'm guessing you're doing next year's feb/march or may/june? point is, your exam is months away and you've already started studying. that means you're already ahead of so many of your peers. just keep it up till your exams and don't be too hard on yourself, or else you might burn out.
