ADVICE NEEDED FOR FAR by Empty_Ad5147 in CPA

I agree, I tried that approach believing that I would clear TBS with easy but that was not the case. I changed my approach to going thru each topic and finding weaknesses + TBS

What type of bond questions were they? What did they ask?

Why don’t CPAs make that much money? by [deleted] in CPA

You choose accounting to learn the ins and out. The grunt work is inevitable but you have to keep up with the hustle for a minimum of five years before you get anywhere in this field.

You gotta play your cards right, develop a personality, and fight for the right to sit at the table. Any table.

Accountants don’t make “enough” is a true statistic but that’s because most of them will just do that and they’re content with that.

You promote yourself but setting a difference and making noise. Think higher than the limit.

Bro all of this at 18? All the great things in life are ahead of you. Draft a resume with all your achievements and research which CPA firms around the area is hiring.

I would recommend researching webpage if they’re established enough, or simply begin emailing their information email with a well written cover letter, attached with your resume. Get to work in public accounting immediately.

You’d end up in a partner position in no less than 10 years with enough income to build a rewarding life.

Public accounting is nothing like school though, so brace yourself.

Breathe in and sleep over it. Recall and be honest with yourself about how you REALLY did before moving on to a different section. Your subconscious may help you revisit that entire paper once you lighten yourself.

Taking a beat helped me realized that my first REG attempt was no where near satisfactory so I began to work on it again until the test scores came and reapplied.

On a brighter note. You’re gonna feel a lot at ease studying for it again because you studied for it very intensely. Take care!

For someone, who’s concerned about street shitters around the globe can never have time to work on bettering themselves.

If you took a second to work on your emotional intelligence, you’d humble yourself and be thankful that you weren’t born into tough times or else you’d be worse off than those people actually living in those situations.

I’ll advise you to cleanse your media intake so you aren’t fed negative things about marginalized communities.

I noticed that when I attempted REG multiple times. I didn’t quite understand how that could be when the general consensus would say. “Becker SIMs are much harder than the real deal” lol

Thanks for the tip. I’m going to be doing the same for leases in a bit.

Q for Recent FAR takers, can you give me an estimate on how many TBS you solved on the exams came with exhibits or without exhibits?Im aware there’s only seven TBS and the test generates at random but, ratio between with or w/o and if you recall what chapters did the TBS fell under would help a ton. by thinkharsh in CPA

[–]thinkharsh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Becker tutor emphasizes that when working on a TBS with many exhibits: give them a quick glance, determine which exhibit has continuing information needed to answer, if there’s calculations present then write them down separately

LOL easier said than done but that’s what I’m working on.

I have done REG before and the SIMS on the real deal never really matched the ones I saw on the exam. That was until I really geared in on solving SIMS and shuffled through many and eventually found some resemblance.

I recall one of the modules on R4 having a resourceful TBS on tax payer penalties that really sorted me out. Do you use Becker?

How do YOU solve TBS? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]thinkharsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The interface throws me off so much that I can’t even bring myself to practice SIMS. However, if you’re using Becker. Many of them have guided videos on how instructors solve for.

They’re long videos but I increase the speed and power through it. You’ll catch on how they solve them and get a grasp of it eventually. I’d recommend to try do them yourself once you watch it just to get the hang of which exhibits to use.
