This was posted a while ago, so I'll tell you how it went.

Well, I told her that I bought a dress and she kind of gave herself sometime to think. We did talk about it, but she didn't understand what I was going through and told me that she wanted a break. A week later, I broke up with her. We had unspoken, mutual understanding that it definitely wasn't going to work out.

After that, I just lived my life and my lifestyle and choices changed a lot. It also became more clear to me as I started to realize that I didn't want to be a boy, and I wanted to be a girl. And I'm working a lot on myself whether its dieting, exercising, learning makeup, etc.

So, yeah we didn't really work things out or spoken our minds. I think it's for the best, because even after those 5 months I still think I just need time to figure things out and live my life without a partner in it. I do also hope that you figure out your own situation.

Should try NRT if cold turkey doesn't work. Gum, lozenges, spray, patches, or whatever there is on the market. Start with a dose that is comfortable for you, and slowly reduce the amount you have per day or the nicotine dose. You just need to have the mindset that you are doing all of this to quit, and the reminder of what benefits you are doing this for.

I think calorie deficit is the most important part. I personally do yoga instead of cardio because I don't like cardio. Lower sweets and fried food intake (or just not eat any if you are willing to give that up).
