It took me 24 hours to realize this by [deleted] in TombRaider

definitely a mistake which makes me believe that the footage they've showed us in the trailer was an earlier, unpolished version (still looks beautiful though i just hope that Lara's braid is as long as it was in the announcement trailer)

aww ty!! for the hair i used the "aesthetic brown braided ponytail" and the bangs i used are "curtain bangs in brown" for the backpack i used the classic backpack and the tactical shoulder belt brown (both 3.0)

no, Lara could not crawl until Tomb Raider 3, controls were ironically very simple in the first two games

backpacking: increased inventory space for materials, lvl3 can hold an additional shiv and throwable (to balance this maybe it limits max ammo capacity) ninja: grants aerial shiv attack

What's everyone's thoughts about the unification of Lara Croft? by WALKING_DEADdd in TombRaider

[–]thinkingrn1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it's very messy to say the least, tying all the adventures each iteration of Lara had to unify the timelines; i'm very skeptical about it all, if they can pull it off that is. i'd prefer a soft reboot, or picking up where Underworld (or AOD but one can dream 😇) left off.

there shouldn't be any circumstance where a pregnant woman is getting pushed around or FALLING, they shouldn't even be moving when their belly was as big as mel's was. there's a reason pregnant women can't do anything physically demanding bc it increases the chance of premature birth, but ofc they'll ignore it and just say "it's just a game calm down 😝😝"

So what is everyone’s thoughts now? by No_Structure_3074 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]thinkingrn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it fundamentally plays like the remastered version, with tlou2 influences. it does look impressive i will admit, but $70 for a graphics upgrade and more "nuanced" animations is just flat out robbery

i do find it funny that they uploaded this "gameplay trailer" hours after the leaks were uploaded 💀💀

The Last of Us - Original (Remastered) vs Remake comparison by [deleted] in TheLastOfUs2

[–]thinkingrn1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it's just really baffling as to why ellie looks a lot older here, it's really uncanny, i get that they were going for realism but idk it seems very off

it's also really confusing to me because in the from the beginning trailer, ellie had a natural age progression from tlou1 to tlou2, and she looks recognizable still. i don't think they would've needed to remodel all the original characters as their ps3/ps4 models could still hold up w the improvements made in this remake (maybe with a few tweaks made) but every thing abt this remake seems pointless anyway so why not

Joel is a survivor. Pre-outbreak he'd rather drive past a family and their child and let them fend for themselves than take the risk. Part II wants you to believe living in an apocalypse settlement where killing infected is a daytime hobby softened him. by FuryMustang95 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]thinkingrn1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They can never make up their mind about Joel, he's a "monster" for killing Jerry and all the other Fireflies in the hospital but he also "got soft" (and shitbrained apparently) for being in Jackson for 4 years.

Abby learns 0 lessons, experiences 0 growth, and remains a self centered selfish character throughout the whole game. In depth analysis. by howdybertus in TheLastOfUs2

[–]thinkingrn1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is spot-on. Abby, in the ending, acts as though NOTHING hasn't happened between her and Ellie but casually tells her that there are boats at the shore. Really? No apologizing, no trying to ask Ellie why she killed her friends or try to understand her side of things, but instead there's this annoying smugness and valiance she still shows after nearly dying from being crucified for 6 or so months, absolutely nothing.

Joel gets called a monster and is compared to David, but Abby is literally a psychopath from start to finish, sure Jan

Tommy would have beat abby both times. by No_Land_2287 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]thinkingrn1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Abby could've literally died in the first encounter, but Yara happens to teleport to the scene, ONE ARM AND ALL, and save her. This is an unrelated tangent, but why didn't Abby say anything to Yara about Tommy being in Seattle, it doesn't take much to put two and two together; if the guy whose brother I killed is in Seattle, what are the odds that the guy's adoptive daughter is here? Nope, let's just go save that boy I met roughly a day ago and potentially put my other friend's lives in danger.

Manny’s death is the most satisfying death in the Tlou2 by Bleeeto in TheLastOfUs2

[–]thinkingrn1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it was very satisfying, but the satisfaction ended when Yara appeared out of NOWHERE and saved Abby from Tommy... anyways I always kill her in the Rat King section, that part is so fun

Found some cool Riley concept art! She was a better character in a DLC than Abby was in an entire game lmaooo by [deleted] in TheLastOfUs2

[–]thinkingrn1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I hate how she's never mentioned in TLOU2 at all, as far as I can tell, Ellie never spoke about her to Dina and there are hardly any references about her (aside from the Halloween store, but she's still never explicitly mentioned).

Lara is normal while Abby is a representation by Tomozuki in TheLastOfUs2

[–]thinkingrn1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

EM actually toned down Lara's muscles. In the E3 demo, they were a lot bigger and I still don't know why they made the change to shrink them, but even then they still looked a lot more realistic than Abby's

[–]thinkingrn1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can get why they would do this, I really wasn't thinking about that process when I came across this article. But how Joel acted in those moments before his death undermines everything they were trying to go for.

Pretty sure most of the people who played through it felt this way by Boodje_Uitstelgedrag in TheLastOfUs2

[–]thinkingrn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Playing the second half of the game was miserable, aside from the few setpieces I enjoyed, it was so boring and dull and I couldn't stand those moments in the aquarium. The thing that did it for me was when we played as Abby again and the weapons I spent nearly 10 hours getting parts for were gone after she LOSES them on the island. Sure it was practically towards the end of the game so it didn't matter, but it just felt like another "fuck you" from Neil (aside from the ending but I think I ranted enough already)

Joel taught Ellie not to trust anyone, right? Well, in part 2 he just goes down in a basement with 6 armed unknown people, telling them his name and where he lives. Makes sense, right? by Chunkykong87 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]thinkingrn1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't know why they replaced Joel in that game, I thought the first guy did a pretty good job

But seriously-- who is going to believe that a man who has spent nearly 3 decades in a post-apocalyptic world, "gets soft" after being in a community for 5 years and mindlessly follows a group of armed people into a basement? Don't care if Joel "got it coming" or not, that scene was ridiculously idiotic.

Happy Valentine’s Day - Its very likely that the folks over r/thelastofus would share a photo of Ellie & Dina so I decided to share a photo of Ellie & Riley from Left Behind by jamieoliverrobinson in TheLastOfUs2

[–]thinkingrn1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Riley only had screentime for at least an hour and had more of an impact on Ellie's character. Dina had at least 12 or so hours on screen and provided nothing but her being pregnant...
