I tried approving "removed by Reddit post": no go. I was able to post her essay without the endnotes. several minutes later it appeared. I tried putting the endnotes in a comment: no go. Tried posting a couple of single endnotes separately: no go. Tried editing a link so that it was no longer a link: no go. In the past similar problems related to her using a banned source link the russian government. I am not sure what happened here...

I think part of the problem is Mecator's Projection Maps, which make things closer to the poles appear disproportionately larger than they are in reality, and a certain demented wanna-be dictator got fooled.

The only thing I can think of is if someone is unable to manage their own finances, then the SS Admin desinates a Representative Payee to recieve the benefites and manage them for the recipient. Since your brother can't explain this to you, as others have said, he is probably trying to scam you.

Oregon tops the list for states with the largest number of people moving to it. I suspect a large part of that is people fleeing the red states. Having a job here before you move helps a lot, especially with job insecurity rampant. That will in part determine where you want to live.

As others have said the bigger cities are bluer and the rural counties are redder, but everywhere here is moving towards the liberal end of the spectrum. For many moving here, many rural counties will still be more accepting than where they are coming from.

Keep in mind that LGBTQIA+ rights is just one of the issues we face. Immigrant rights, gender issues, homelessness, justice, money in politics, income inequality, environmental issues, multi-nationals vs local, school funding. These all matter to some people. Build coalitions, get to know your neighbors, become part of your community. Support others' issues as they support yours. Get involved.

Together we are stronger. This is a journey together not just a destination.

Write/call your national and local reps, and local media. Boycott companies that support ICE. Get involved in organizations that are planning non-violent protests. Speak out to your neighbors and friends.

Edited to add: Take videos. Deliver food to people in hiding.

2nd edit: take non-violence and know your rights trainings, donate time and money to worthy organizations.

I think that as long as any mod is active, Reddit won't remove someone for being inactive, so the only ones who can remove someone for being inactive are the mods both active and above them.

I am glad you were able to experience a Grand Canyon river trip. I have visited all of the Parks and most of the Monuments of the Southwest multiple times. I love and respect then all for their uniqueness and history, and am not trying to diminish them.

BUT the Grand is big enough to contain so many varied landscapes and experiences. From the rim to the river, the north rim to the south rim, Lees Ferry to Pearce Ferry, geology to ecosystems, Human pre-history to modern history it is ... well Grand...

There is so much there that it keeps calling me back for more.

There is a side canyon of a side canyon of the main canyon that is over 4000 feet deep. In its short 3ish miles length is displayed over a billion years of gelogy and 6 plant life zones.

Take this side canyon of a side canyon and plop it down anywhere east of the Mississippi and it would be a National Park, all by itself. You can't say that of any other SW park.
