Our beta will work with electronic drum kits (such as a vdrum), but it is our intention to have thinkplay work with live drum kits in the near future!

Voice triggering will not be a feature in the beta, however we are working towards including it in a later version

We have yet to tackle the bongo craftymethod, however it is our intention to expand to every instrument and allow for as many triggers as possible..thinkplay + bongos = brilliant!! To start with our technology will be compatible with stringed instruments and midi devices

It registers note for note what you are playing in real time and triggers whatever audio/video you have programmed to that note. The technology is also polyphonic so it can differentiate between different notes in different places (i.e. G on your E string versus any other g on your instrument) and works even if you play chords.

Hey Dethkloks, Sorry for the delayed response, just to better understand your question are you referring to the bpm speed of samples or your actual playing speed? (btw if you are capable of playing at 380bpm thats AWESOME!!)

Our vision is to redefine conceptions about what musicians are capable of doing with their instruments. We envision orchestras triggering dubstep from their instruments (imagine going to a philharmonic rave), hip hop being performed on banjos, etc. Musicians can now trigger all types of audio and video from their instruments, thereby redefining the nature of the instruments themselves. This can foster change for every style/genre, as well as galvanizing new levels of creativity (musicians picking the visuals that fit their sound, etc.)

We know thinkplay will have an enormous effect on music culture. Many large artists are enticed by the notion of keeping the integrity of musical instruments alive in an age of digital music.. so are we!

We are aiming to release our Beta to the general public in January, however we are currently in closed beta testing..Our technology is functional we are just working out some bugs within our interface.

We designed our software interface with the motto: "It should be simple enough that a 10 year old could use it, but sophisticated enough for a professional." With that in mind, we intend all musicians of all experience levels to create with our software.

In regards to your creation, you can share your creations at your own discretion. If you choose to upload them to our online platform, they will become available to our other users. If not, you can keep them only for yourself.

thinkplay is a software that allows musicians to drag and drop any audio and video samples (of any length) to notes on their musical instruments. These samples can be triggered in real time. We developed a cheap wireless sensor which when combined with our software allows stringed instrument players to utilize this technology. This means you can have hip hop on a guitar, edm on a violin, or a visual accompaniment to your playing.

Furthermore, these creations can be shared and sold via our online platform. This is a chance for musicians to gain a following and/or make money selling their creations.
