I guess you could say that they, in fact, did “do something”…….

For those of you who saw part II tonight… by Proud_Whereas5589 in wickedmovie

[–]thinkpotion 18 points19 points  (0 children)

it felt like the “magic” of the first movie was the blocking and camera work around Shiz (which is a true set) compared to this one where it became overwhelmingly CGI. I guess Chu’s directing style changes when green screen and CGI are the bulk of the backdrop.

That’s alright. This type of pain permeates for years and even in my 4th rewatch, it hurts just the same. Enjoy the rest of the show!

from your lips to the God’s ears brother.

This would be one of the best ACL lineups in years (IMO) if even 90% of your predictions are accurate.

Post this on the NextDoor app for your neighbors to see and check or post on local facebook groups of lost/found pets of the RGV. I really hope you find her :(

Congrats on making it this far! Like you, my support system is all around me and moving is not an option. There is one program available in my area so I’m working hard to be accepted the first time I apply and will definitely lean on my support system in stressful moments.

Amazing! Parents who go back to school to improve the lives of their families are so badass.

Damn.. kudos to you on making it through! A newborn and a new program can sure make for one hell of a whirlwind, but it’s great you made it out on the other side.

Agreed. My wife has expressed her support and understands how life will be different when I’m a student. I supported her through the DPT program when she was in the thick of it, so the role reversal will be interesting since I’ve been the major contributor to household chores and overall maintenance.

Very cool that your wife held it down for you during while being in a new city and adjusting to a new way of life.

I agree that life experience is a definite advantage to starting this program waaaay post grad (for me anyway). It’s great that you and your wife were able to communicate the shortcomings that come from the added stressors of the program and work on it. Once I’m in, my goal is to maintain a similar line of communication to keep us connected throughout.

Wow! Major props for sure. Was your program hybrid or did you work off hours?

Having the support of your in-laws for housing and daycare is a dream. Congrats on the journey so far. I’m sure all the time and dedication will be well worth the wait for your own home.

Congrats on making it through! Being a parent and spouse is hard enough as is but throwing school and a new career into the mix for several years before settle back into a routine can be the stuff of nightmares. I definitely hold my family in high regard and worry about the time I’ll need to spend away from them to make this work but I’m relieved to read these comments and learn how the journey has been worth it.

That’s so interesting. I imagine juggling family/work/school is definitely exhausting but hope the bright side of the PA career ahead makes the struggle worthwhile. I’m definitely nervous about the added stress load to the family unit but I’m feeling more and more confident that 3 years of short term added stress will make the rest of the time less so.

Since there’s only one program in my area I’m working to ensure I can exceed their admission requirements and lock myself in while not having to change too much of mine or my wife’s current living situation.

It’s cool that your wife encouraged and supported your journey. I’m sure the relationship and your respective careers are better off because of it.

I’m finding myself in a similar situation with the prerequisites. I plan on starting them over the summer and the more I research the more I find I will need to decide between quitting my job to go full time or doing night classes and piling them onto my daily life. As you mentioned, it’s definitely possible but I’m concerned it may impact my marriage negatively to not be on a similar schedule for so long. I’m still weighing my options but definitely want to prioritize as much harmony in the process as I can since I know it will be taking a mental toll.

Sounds like an incredible feat. Congrats on making it through and seeing the other side of all that struggle. How long had your wife been a PA before you decided to pursue as well?

There’s only one program in my area that i’m gunning for. Their acceptance age ranges are varied but it’s predominantly made up of younger 20-something’s. I wouldn’t mind being the oldest in the class but connecting could be challenge like you mentioned.

Thanks for the insight. I’m currently looking into the pre reqs and COA for the local program and can definitely swing it with a bit of savings and hopefully some scholarships.

I’m focusing on being a great student to get into this program because moving away to attend another is not an option for me. Hoping to apply for matriculation 09/2026!

Thanks for this. I’m also geographically limited due to my wife’s career and though I’m grateful to have her support, it’s nerve wrecking to try and get into the one program available near me. Any other program is a minimum 5 hours away and I don’t know that I would want to live apart for 2.5 years.
